Kindle Fire HD second gen 1920px x 1200px (supports 1080p "HD" resolution) 1024 MB Dual Core TI OMAP4 (4470) HS, 1.5 GHz, with gpu Imagination PowerVR OS Based on Android 4.0.3, API level 15 64 GB of Storage Hi Guys, hope things are going well. Easy difficulty. If I get in a tight jam I've learned if any of my party can reach the staircase we all go up, and appear together. On level 3 I got caught in the ambush as it should be. Had my Outlander out front, the others in a pocket behind him. Here is the formation. W C T (W=Wiz, C=cleric, T=thief, O=Oulander, X=Staircase, S=Giant black spiders O S X S S Things are getting too hot. So I have the Outlander move into the staircase, and we arrive on level 2. Buff up, heal up, and tap the staircase to go down to level 3 again. Now Outlander is in the same position, the other three are superimposed by the spiders. I can move them. Get the m, c, t out to safe firing range. Outlander is not superimposed. If I try to melee attack any of the spiders with weapon skill active. Instead of attacking, everything on the right grays out like I was out of AP. However instead of attacking, the blue "Move Here" ring displays, and the party member moves to location without striking. Nobody can attack, everybody can only move. I quit the game, came back to menu, hit continue, and landed right back where I was. No way out of this loop, start a new game is the only option. No sweat that's why I am an Alpha tester. I've taken close to 70 pages of hand written notes, and retesting features that might be having problems or I have questions about. Material for future posts.

John Robinson - thank you for the report, and this has been resolved for future games. We are not sure we can save this party.

Nothing to worry about, I really don't care how many parties go bye bye. I've started new games at least a dozen times, to verify how things work, or something that went wrong wasn't a mirage. I'm more concerned about working hard, and keeping my credibility in my posts.
This is the new flag ship. I really want to see those great reviews roll in when the product rolls out. Especially first time buyers. After Star Traders, I purchased all of your games even though I don't have enough time to play them. Hope new people do too.

I've done exactly the same ! Buying anything (though I did try a bit of everyone of it) even if I don't play them.

I discovered the stairwells to safety method of allowing you to recharge/recover, but never returned on top of the spiders. I'd really like to keep that functionality, but it is sort of an exploit.
I haven't gone ahead and started many new games though ... enjoying my current party just a little too much

slayernzYeah, sometimes when there is a battle, and there comes a point where the monsters, although on screen will not move forward to attack. I just park the other 3, and use just one character 7 spaces at a time instead of all of them one by one, to reach the long distance stairway. Then I'm good to go back to the inn, and recharge health/spell points on the surface.

slayernz - we've kept the stairways as an escape hatch. When you come back, you'll get placed -around- the spiders and have to duke it out. Just avoiding the on-top-of bug and its following issues.

the new code will make you sorry in some situations -- if the spiders have the stair surrounded you'll spawn in the midst of them -- possibly out of range of the steps. no more spawning on top, but they will push your spawn points up to 6 tiles away from the stairs.
if there are monsters in all directions for 6 tiles, the game will try to kill a few non-boss monstes to make space for you.
---------------
I have a game on nightmare that just used up all it's restores and is now perma dead testing that =)
Retreat up the stairs on high difficulty mode is something you're going to want to avoid like the plague.

If you're spawning into an area that has monsters in all directions for 6 tiles, you're going to be dead pretty quickly regardless if the game kills a couple non-bosses "It'll be a slaughter!" "That's the spirit" "No, my slaughter!"
