My understanding of a restore point is that you've just got yourself killed and choosing restore returns you to a safe spot. I hit restore and got dropped back at a campsite. Wonderful! Except I'm still in combat mode and can neither rest nor group. If one is restoring would it not make sense to return to a safe and not in combat mode area?

@leslyr - yes, that is correct. It's a technical challenge that we have not yet been able to overcome, as the enemies stay on the board. It's on our list!
Did you find the RP location to be good, tho?

fallen. Yes because the camp and rest was badly needed, if it had worked. It was a long walk back but if one can group it isn't a problem.Rather heal and walk than restore perhaps closer but too badly wounded to continue.

It's funny, I struck a group including 1 Deathkin, and he got the jump on my Wizard. Before I could say Burligministrationalistism, my wizard was pushing up toadstools. I hit the restore button, and wham, I was magically back at the camp fire, but as a bonus, the entire Deathkin party disappeared and I was free to Glom and find new things to kill. I never actually found that Deathkin again ... and can't say that I was upset about it

slayernzDoes restore point always take you back to the nearest campfire? Gives me an idea. While we are waiting for that really tough fix regarding breaking contact and battle mode not turning off. We could send the Wizard in by himself to "Take one for the Team". BAM! Instant Wizard Oatmeal. Party breaks contact and returns to campfire. Even if this doesn't take you to a campfire, it offers a way out of the problem, so you can end the battle and go back to glom. Vraes "Hey Karjtan go over there in the shadows to keep safe until this is over." Karjthan "I see something moving like a spider over there." Vraes "You are just getting jumpy and seeing things. Hurry up there's no time to argue!"

Yes. Give Karjtan another reason to distrust Them. During their youth, wizards such as Karjtan were often hoisted up flagpoles by their underwear, and now they have clearly demonstrated the ability to be smarter than any living thing, they are still made to be the sacrificial lamb for the purposes of "strategy". The Guild will hear of this!

The Guild will hear of this! "Smarter than any living thing", and this better than thou attitude is what makes Wizards so popular. But after his sacrifice at the bridge we really do need to treat him with some respect. Sorry Karjtan, nothing personal, we just wanted it to be mercifully swift, everybody else takes too long to die and so suffers more. How about you Tamlin? You could cast Farsight all the way up to show us where not to go? Hey that hurts! Stop that. Well everybody, we will just have to draw straws, I'll go get some be right back...

1) Restore Point will always take you "somewhere safe". It also restores all HP / SP, even if it doesn't drop you at a campsite. 2) We could and display how many times you have died, its called your Death Count. Retry Turn = +1, Restore Point = +4. 3) High end difficulty games will end permanently when your Death Count reaches a certain value. In Lower difficulty games, you can brag about how you beat the game and still have a Death Count of 0. 4) slayernz - that seems like the result of dying on the very first monster turn. Sounds like when you came back through that area tho, another group of monsters (maybe without a Death Kin) were waiting for you. ... was that in the Prologue? You should not be seeing Death Kin in the Prologue. Did those sneaky bastards get in there somehow?

fallen, no the deathkin were in the large ratkin village south of the labyrinth. Labyrinth needs more dead ends btw, otherwise it is nota labyrinth :-) When I got back there I found a standard shaman and some ROUS's.

No, was talking about 1.1.1 and in K Deeps, after the first Ratkin village you find (with the palisades) there is a supposed maze of pathways that ultimately take you to the second ratkin village.
