Oftentimes I'll be doing something when a message flashes on the screen - something like "Clan Javat and the de Valtos Syndicate have declared Zombie Death War." These messages typically only stay on the screen about 1 second, even when they are rather long, and I usually don't have time to read the whole thing. Is there a place these messages are stored, or is there a way to make them stay on the screen until I dismiss them?

Titor -- at this time there are options to extend the length of some toasts. In the future there will be a system that allows tap-dismiss and other settings.
Working on it, just not a simple fix. The messages flashed on screen today use a standard Android OS feature called "Toasts" and I'm pretty much a slave to how they work until I replace them.

I wondered what those "toasts" were in the settings....

That is developer talk. Not sure what to call them ... pop-up text?

I think "notifications" would be good. Other possibilities: pop-ups, alerts, messages (might be too vague)

I'm so familiar with them being "toasts" because they pop up like ... well bread in a toaster (however, you get words on these toasts rather than silhouettes of Jesus). In saying that, changing the naming to "Alerts" or "Notifications" could also be okay.

I have been drinking champagne after each pop-up. "To Captains lost and Captains not yet lost!"

Oh, I fly just fine. It's when I have to get up to board a pirate ship that things get wobbly.
