I just started my first Normal game and to my great surprise I lost a Thug Runner permanently. I'm not upset as the Streets gave him to me to assist during the mission, but nowhere in the starting difficulty page does it list permanent Runner deaths. Does this affect Ally-type Runners as well? I'd hate to lose Clive Zep as my CK is a boxer, not a shooter... And are there other difficulty changes that aren't obvious? I swear the Streets are paying me on the cheap for my services as well, but money is money and I need to experience (as I seem to be incapable of hitting targets consistently. Which is how the Thug died an ignomous death...).

Officer Genious... When, on the Diff page it says that YOU can die, your RUNNER can, too... So: Be careful. Location: Amazon HQ, threatening the CEO to get HoS on their market asap

The difficulty page mentions having an EXP penalty for death, but losing some EXP doesn't scare me as much as losing a good runner forever...

You mention that the streets gave him to you. Wasn't he died just because of that ?
Did you loose another one since ?

I got him while I was on a mission and some fellow Street members gave him to me to help with that mission as I had space in my party. I didn't kill for him if that's what you mean.  I haven't fought since but I'm about too. I don't want to find out by getting my gunslinger friend killed though-- my boxer needs him for backup!! |

Officer Genious - took #CK-2244 to get the difficulty screen to describe the runner death situation as well.

The next release describes runner death rules in standard and custom difficulty screens.
