As one of the Alpha Testers of Brutal and Nightmare level Heroes of Steel, I have come in contact with the beast like, bugged as all hell, Deathkin.
Now that the new version of Heroes of Steel is out ... that freaking white faced weasel, who was born under the decrepit auspice of the foul Crone (goes on for a while on a disjointed twitchy hate filled rant), is no longer a bugged force of nature.
THUS:
This is a thread for screenshots, stories, and anything involving THE DEATH OF A DEATHKIN.
You got killed by a Deathkin? Put it here. RANT. SHARE THE PAIN.
You killed one of these mofos? Put it here. Say where, and how! Relive the pleasure of this bastard's demise!

Yeah, but you're a sadist fallen, who can complete the prologue in 3 hours - those Deathkin see you coming and cower in the corner, hoping that you will pass them by without unleashing your terrible capacity for destruction. "What, Deathkin, you dare actually hit me!" <tap tap tap tap> "There, I just changed the code so you are now wearing a frilly Tutu!"

Devs, console for the players so they may cheat!!! ...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If they want to. BTW, slayer... That one made me giggle, reminded me of an interview with Notch while he was playing minecraft and being attacked by a skeleton. Instead of killing the skeleton, he just made that thing go at really low speed, hehe! Sent from Bravestar Control Center, Boston Core. Causing Havoc and Chaos in the NBZ since its beginning.

HoS will be cheat code free -- we're going to have online ladders and Game Center integration down the road, so have to keep things competitive =)

I didn't kill a Deathkin yet, but I did slaughter as many guards as the jail level would allow me. I'm just starting to go through the tunnel now... *cackle*

Officer Genious, You'll know a deathkin when you see one - but not for a long while yet (thank goodness)

The first time I saw a Deathkin it was on Brutal difficulty. I thought "Hey what a cool looking weasel". I didn't even think of it as a ratkin. So I saw it cast some green buff thing on it
... then it ran 8 spaces and killed my thief right next to the camp site.
I said ... well DAMN! Reloaded.
It killed my outlander X10.
Then I got really prissy and strategized.
241 deaths later ( no .. not kidding. In fact I started counting after I'd died a few times already, so that number is small. I encountered that thing almost every game on Brutal and Nightmare) I finally broke down and conceded that it was bugged beyond my ability to kill.
And now I am looking for it again... on Nightmare difficulty.
You ... white faced ... crud smearing foul (foams at the mouth)
I .... WILL ... KILL YOU!

rabidbite - you should encounter Deathkin only when you are better prepared now, and you'll find them less buggered

I was kinda lucky... I had a deathkin in a big fight but he was absent most of it. I had to go hunting for him... I had killed all the others off and it still said I was in combat... I got to team up on him 4 against 1 with no distractions... would have Been painful fighting him with the other ratkins around.

Finally fought my first Deathkin on Nightmare! Needless to say, impressed. Due to the large amount of other monsters I had to clear through to begin with I was running ridiculously low on spirit power and actually had to quaff a few potions. (My first beside a single one during the prologue) With their large pool of action points, I simply couldn't deal with it the way I had most monsters. Dreading fighting more, my Outlander seemed to near enough zero chance to smack it.

Wish I would have seen this thread before I met one, would have taken some screenshots. I met two while going after the Shaman. My first run through was on Hard, so they were bad, but not too bad. I think trying to kill everyone else off so that you can go 4-on-1 with it is a must. I parked my Outlander in front of it with the Cleric on the side. She kept the Outlander healthy and could move in for a hit sometimes and then back out before ending the turn. The Wizard kept everybody buffed up and would occasionally land a fireball on said weasel. Then it was up to the Outlander and Thief to eventually land enough hits on him. With Choking Ashes(?) and Anguish (Cleric's spell) on the Deathkin, I was able to hit fairly consistently, 2 of 3 hits or more.
Question: Does Deathkin = Weaselrine?
