Weapon Selection

Would it be possible to have a selection of weapons for the Outlander (and future Melee heroes with a broad focus on weapon skills) available in the initial chest?

More than easy enough on lower difficulties to not place any points in a weapon skill you want to develop and wait to buy the chosen weapon in Oskahold, but on the harder difficulties ensuring the Outlander had an equivalent of the training sword by the first campfire would be a lovely boon. Every little bit of accuracy/defense helps then!

I think having a choice would be cool...have a choice between a cudgel (hammer), wooden stick (blade), or hunting spear(polearms but you can't take the others. Gives a little more options.

That would actually be pretty handy, I know I generally tend to switch my Outlander from blades to... well anything as soon as possible. Don't know why I have such an aversion to swords, I just tend to not use them whenever possible.
