Why would one, for example, not accept the caravan quest?
Will there ever be a quest that if you don't accept you'll have a different opportunity later you otherwise wouldn't?
Or if you accept a quest, such as caravan... but never go west is there any punishment?
Even if you don't intend to do a quest (and let's face it... we all want to do everything)... might as well accept just in case you accidentally complete the quest doing something else.
Unless there is any trade-off later in the game.

bobsoup - the design is that Episode 1 lacks non-linearity. There will be a lot of choices like this in later Episodes, and yes, you will be making lots of this-or-that, or do-this-and-lose-that kind of decisions.
