Nemo, you may still be able to camp if you kill all the rats/ratkins in the Vermin Lair. I've taken to killing all the monsters whenever I get into a fight, then heading back to the campsite immediately afterwords if needed.

captain nemo - yes, that is a classic sign that there are living monsters somewhere nearby. If you kill them, you will be able to camp there.

I'm not the first to have beaten part one, who else has beaten the great Ratkin shaman. Playing again on hard to see if I can do it again.

I just beat Episode 1 Act 1 on Brutal. Vincent is *the beast* =) Vincent is incredibly versatile. I was going through the prologue with him until I got my Xmas present of the new Kindle Fire HDX. So I'm starting from scratch. Could you give an old beggar a hint about what the strong points were that worked for you? My wife and I were talking about it over dinner. I'm thinking his speed and lightning charged sword are probably his strengths. I'm still running with Kharjtan until I finish Chapter 1 on the HDX, then will do a run through with Vincent. Thanks

My Vincent build was all about Lighting Spear and Thundering Blades. Thank you kind Sir for the copper in me tin cup. Hobbling off into a fog shrouded night only his wooden crutch marking his passing.

One thing about Vincent -- do you want him to use STR blades or DEX?
If you go STR, I gotta say you're probably right about Charged Attack and Speed.
I was using a DEX blade with terrible damage and good Parry, for defense.
Vincent has a lot of flex because he is one of the few currently playable characters with two different attribute weapons to select from.

Cory TreseGreat Clues Cory. I see what you mean, He starts with Blades 3, same as Vraes. Going Dex raises his Dodge at the same time. So the Mage armor was good enough on Brutal because of the high Parry? I'm thinking Vincent and Vraes share some common ground when it comes to the value of parry. I'm finding with Vraes, the Phalanx shield around 4 or 5 with pumped up Leadership invaluable. I've seen him stand in front of 3 level 9 giant rats (normal diff) and sometimes they all miss. Great, wonderful, bounce up and down (please don't change it). I completely stopped using Stone Skin, threw in a little natural mastery for accuracy. The point being I think high parry can be more effective than armor, especially with a +3 shield, when used with Kryrea's Warders shield. Karjtan's buffs and curses are hard to let go of, but you've got me convinced Vince is the way to go.

BAM .. BOOM .. POW
Made it to the campsite & it told me it was "Too Dangerous To Camp Now" Well That Sucks As you can see I found the passageway to continue on... Thanks again for the help Which campsite? Too dangerous means monsters... The campsite is next to some stone steps that lead up to North Vault, I've killed everyone / everything around but still can't use it. I think it's because the Great Shaman is in the area, still in an unknown area (black). So since I'm pretty beat down and low on potions, without a useable campsite I decided to go back to OskaHold to Heal & Re-stock. I took the stone steps up to the North Vault & Took a Screenshot of the pit so I know where to do back down. I had to walk a round some to be able to see enough to recognize things because it was darken out again, I know this is listed as a bug.
