Which campsite? Too dangerous means monsters... The campsite is next to some stone steps that lead up to North Vault, I've killed everyone / everything around but still can't use it. I think it's because the Great Shaman is in the area, still in an unknown area (black). So since I'm pretty beat down and low on potions, without a useable campsite I decided to go back to OskaHold to Heal & Re-stock. I took the stone steps up to the North Vault & Took a Screenshot of the pit so I know where to do back down. I had to walk a round some to be able to see enough to recognize things because it was darken out again, I know this is listed as a bug. Certainly not a bug I'm aware of. This entire post confuses me -- is there a single issue here? Or are you talking about a strategy of just not killing monsters? There are no campsites near the great shaman that I know of. There have been no reports or bugs that I know about for saving fog of war. I want to try to help you but this is just over my head

Cory, I believe I have experience something which may be pertinent to this.
Example: IF you decide to (after a bad beat down)[on Nightmare in my case] Restore, then if you re-enter the zone, you are automatically subject to combat rounds. This may in some strange way linked to this other issue.

If you do a Restore, you will lose the recently 'de-fogged' areas of the map, as well as the results of the current turn. Not a bug, that is exactly how I want it to work. Cleaning up the monsters that killed the player is a work in progress.

I think the Cap'n is saying that he couldn't find the last monsters to kill by the last campsite before heading south into the barrels and things that lead to the Shaman. I don't think he was down with Chiclet yet. He didn't want to press on and so he took the stars up and out to Oska to get healed up. When he came back down the same stairs (that are by that last campsite) the fog of war had returned, n'est pas?

Fog of war never departs, so it cannot "return" as far as I understand the code and the play I have had with the game.

Maybe I used the wrong term. I meant the-black-that-covers-the-map-before-its-explored. I was just taking a guess, trying to help make sense of things. I'm sure it's more complicated from your perspective.
Captain Nemo will have to let you know more about what he means.

I was trying to kill off everyone so I could use the campsite, but wasn't able to do that so I returned to Oskahold. Second one is right I was talking about the-black-that-covers-the-maps Sorry there's no real problems here. Just me doing a poor job of writing & explaining things.
