really great game, but i am finding it a bit hard to navigate and progress and am going round a bit in circles. Anyone out there with a route map or guide to help things along?
i got as far as finding two silver cohort tombs and then things seemed to come to a halt.

Have you cleared out the North Vault and the two farmhalls? You'll have to talk to the Reeve (biggest building in town) and then leave town going north. Once you've done that it's time to go down the hole in the middle of the North Vault fort.

@pg - a Quest Log and a regional map are both on the top of the list for enhancements! Good luck in the warren!

*SPOILER*
It seems a bit odd to return to the Tombs simply for XP. It involves everyone's favorite task of walking long distances. The gifts given by the Reeve are connected to those in the tombs. Could this perhaps be a quest instead. The Reeve, instead of giving the gifts, mentions that the tombs contain the items the town would like to give and gives you the key to previously unlopenable (red) chests and directions. You then don't have to enter this location(Warm Cavern, was it?) until the Shaman is defeated (saves replay walking, unless you really want that Fire Resistance Ring early). This way the XP is granted in addition treasure. Aside from the quest log, I wouldn't have noted need to return there, and while XP is XP, I was a bit disappointed with the result. But what else did I expect for walking? LOL
Just a thought. And not sure how much code rewriting needs to go into some aesthetic change like this. I would prefer a Paladin sooner, but new games may find this to make a bit more sense.

Gr8Scott - the game will be full of optional places that you can go, and they won't always grant rewards. We are working on a fast forward button here eventually, so I don't want to rewrite carefully scripted content to avoid a single long walk.

We are working on a fast forward button here eventually, so I don't want to rewrite carefully scripted content to avoid a single long walk. I tried leaving the chests in the tombs alone with my second party until after the big shaman was dead...nothing but regular stuff. Some "long walks" could be saved by additional recovery camps. One spot I'd say cries out for one first is the N Vault fort. Level camps are a different story, long walks to those are just a price to be paid.

I do agree that the reward for walking back to the tombs is pretty minimal. You get 40 xp which is less than killing 4 enemies at that point. Unless it does something else plotwise, later on, it doesn't feel like its worth it other than some nagging completionist drive to do everything possible.
