Is anybody role playing an unmodified knight, to see how far they can take the character? Is the loss of experience gain, proportional to the increase of DV, or does a character only stop gaining experience, if DV is maxed? Thank you.

Ok. Should have read the manual. Lol. Read the bit now on DV. Would rather not modify my CK at the start, and reap maximum experience. Still interested in other players favorite builds though.

I take no cyberware until I want to go to BS/KH or corps land on a regular basis. Then I buy dermal armour III, from Saytek's. I've been known to wire the nerves of runners I hire late, because their AP is so low. Otherwise, I stay away from cyberware. I want the XP.

I suppose the DV drops, if implants are surgically removed. There was a game called space siege, that had a cybernetic aspect. If you became too cybernetic, you could not go down one of the finishing story trees. Not saying anymore about Space Siege, just in case someone wants to play it, for the first time. I don't know if you are familiar with Deus Ex. That's actually a story, based around being "made not born". Named one of my CK characters JC. Denton, because of the similar feel. Thanks again.

I tend to be quite heavily augmented, but that's because I generally play a hacker and it's not really avoidable. And Deus Ex is definitely quite CK-like - I've got all 3 of them, but I'm only part-way through the first one so far.

I've got 2 as well, but have not finished it. 3's too much for my old but faithful PC.

I always play cyber freaks. As quickly as I can get the wares, they are going in

Too many games say, "choose wisely, for you cannot go back, once your choice had been made". All very well, but how can you choose wisely, when you have no idea what's coming round the next corner, and if your choice will be appropriate. :S (not referring to Startraders). That makes it clear what upgrades do. Thanks for giving us choice guys.

@cig - it helps you put in the crappy stuff (low level dermal) and then come back out and rip it out later for an upgrade

ST says "choose wisely, for you cannot go back, once your choice had been made".
CK does not. Each are great options, but the game design is different.
The best use of cyberware is to convert money + new runners into effective fighters fast.
A new cybersword ganger and 80K in warez is a very, very good bodyguard.
Protip -- a bit of DV can help you blend in and keep your total XP lower, which means less negative attention for your squad.

And yes, I'd not use it if you'd forbid me to. And: I'm notifying you! Just gotta get my Laptop back... So I'd already be working on this, but the computer seems to be broken. Doesn't seem to start up and it doesn't charge. I hate that. Now I gave it to a repair store... Sent from my broken HTC Desire C using proboards. Anyone's got a fan?

My current one is still all-meat. Planning on seeing if I can take him to max-all attributes/skills before then knocking him to Terminator-level with cyber once XP doesn't really matter as much (though may wait a bit to get a few allies out of runners.)
