Cory, I love your game. But damn it, I've lost hundreds of hours of gameplay and advancements because there is no way to export award and captain data, even in an emergency.
I had to get a new tablet today. I knew it was going down and I was able to backup data before it died completely.
My Startrader game progress, of course, was unable to be saved.
This is the second time I'm going to have to start all over from scratch. This is not fun for me at all.
PLEASE! Put in some kind of export game data, even if it is to some secure server on your end and can be done only once every so often. Something.

Would this also enable awards to be copied when you upgrade to elite? That is the only thing holding me back to upgrade since there were a couple of the awards I really did not enjoy doing.
PS
I also need to meet some deadlines on my thesis the next couple of weeks so no rush to fix this...

Google does take 30% so we do net about 1.39 before expenses =)
Your posts and stories and friendship are worth more than this by far. It is nice to have Google pay for my coffee tho.

LoL Judging by the reviews you deserve your own coffee machine. Sooner or later all those playing the free version will want to move to elite. This is only the second game ever installed on my phone, but no other game I looked at had even half the ongoing development of star traders.
Anyhow my 1.40€ (why so much less than other simpler games) was not a bribe, rather I had I pushed the elite button a couple of weeks ago expecting to donate and carry on playing, but found it was a whole new app. Anyhow it was the fear of loosing my awards at a time when I have very little spare time to play that stopped me.

You can copy captains from free to elite. Awards, ships, experience, everything about the captain can be put into elite from free.

You should sell some badass faction hats online to support your spice habit. Maybe just a solid cap with a nice embroidered or screen printed logo on the front and STRPG on the back.
Can you imagine getting in a fender bender and the other driver gets out to exchange insurance information and he see's that you're flying Rychart colors and slowly turns his Cadar cap around front-wise. This was no accident. It was a ramming action, confirmed by popup. You both whip out smartphones to check your faction status. His car won't start, so you siphon his gas, enslave his family, and steal the groceries from the trunk. Gotta let him live though, there's a shortage of luxury rations on Pegasus Outpost and it looks like the produce is organic and the eggs are free-range.

Cory, I too would pay money for STRPG merchandise  ... I'd looooooove a Cadar branded Torp to carry around in my backpack. I guess though, full size models would be out of the question. For one thing, I don't know if I could get it through the train door on the way to work, and secondly, if I went all out and set up a torpedo launch battery, I'd really get to experience whether it is creepy being there when I'm not at battle stations. On the other hand, imagine a couple of torpedoes strapped to the outside of your car. That'll certainly stop that Rychart hat-lover from attempting to ram me! |
