Thanks for the Dual Wield Section I have weapons to DW with damages X-Y & A-B. Assume X > A. Normal damage would be X + (1 to (Y-X)) & A + (1 to (B-A)). DW damage is (X+A) + (1 to ((Y-X) + (B-A))) OR X + (1 to ((Y-X) + B)))?

algesan - if you have two blades, damage 10-30 and damage 20-30 you'd end up with a final damage of 30-60.

algesan - if you have two blades, damage 10-30 and damage 20-30 you'd end up with a final damage of 30-60. Thanks fallen for this statement. Makes Dual Weilding much more attractive for me now. I've started going off of minimum damage mainly for my weapon selection as for me it seems to be a better indicater of likely damage per attack. Example: if I have a weapon that uses 3AP and does 21-51dmg and another that uses 3AP and does 31-42dmg I'm more likely to take the second weapon since it is much less likely to have all its dmg absorbed by armor/toughness. May not be able to do as much Max damage but can be more confident that a hit will at least do some damage. With this clarification on Dual Weild getting a high base damage 2AP 1H Sword and 1AP light blade for Vraes could see him getting as good, if not better damage , than with a 3AP 2H sword. Might also end up with both better accuracy and parry depending on the weapons used.

xdesperado - yep, takes the right coordination, planning and weapons, but it can be very powerful.

If using 2 (2AP) swords for 4AP they either both hit for combined damage or they both miss? I assume the second attack using only 2AP is a normal primary weapon roll.

From the section on dual wielding in the first post (now updated to be more clear and contain previous examples):
"Only one attack roll is made for the dual attack. The weapon accuracy which is used as the strong dice for the attack is taken from the higher of the two blades. The attribute that is used (Strength or Dexterity) for the attack is the attribute used by the weapon in the primary equipment slot. Therefore, either the entire attack hits or the entire attack misses."

Quick question about bonus elemental damage from gear and party buffs.
Specifically Kjartan in my current game has the Ashwalker's Staff equiped which grants +4 Fire Damage. Does that affect the Burning Blades buff damage when he casts it on the party or does it only get factored in when he is personally dealing damage?

xdesperado - no, the damage for a weapon, gear or armor equipped by a character is only applied to the attacks made by that character (in this case, Kjartan).

Dual Wielding Melee Curse attacks? If Selen is equipped with two blades and uses frenzied blows or punishing blades.
Does each blade have a separate chance to curse the target?

Believe since you only get a single attack roll with Dual Weild you only get one chance to bestow the curse effect. Do damage=targets cursed No damage=no curse effect

xdesperadoYeah I agree, I'ts almost a wish list. The toughest thing I'm trying to figure out about Selen. Why ever use a 2AP blade reducing your chances of getting in a curse from 7 to 3. Same with Dual Wielding 1AP blades. With the way you can raise her critical hits, I just can't figure out any advantages to using a 2AP weapon. The extra damage in the 2AP weapons I've found this far is not that big. Some of the 2AP blades have higher accuracy but with her dex and +x accuracy attacks more than compensate. What I really want is a high accuracy 1AP blade with Parry greater than 1.

Using a 2AP dagger in the main-hand doesn't do enough additional damage to be worth it in my experience. Also 3AP one-handed weapons for Vraes don't do enough additional damage to warrant their use either. I would expect the Hit/Parry factor to be double that of a 1AP weapon for a 2AP weapon and a 3AP weapon a third more than a 2AP weapon to follow logic (unless I'm missing something?)

John Robinson agree a 1AP Light Blade that delivered good accuracy, parry and base damage would be awesome. Current group Selen is using a Sai Sword 1AP, +3acc, +4par, 20-24 dmg. Best minimum damage I've seen for a 1AP weapon this playthrough, good thing she's getting +14 dmg from gear and +18 fire dmg from gear and buffs. Add in the bonus dmg from Frenzied Blows and she can deliver a respectable hit even without criticals. Of course she gets plenty of crits as well thanks to buffs, gear and FB...
