Hi, i just bought this game along with ST and CK... played ck first and am totally hooked then i decided to try this but i cant quite figure out how to strengthen the captain... unlike CK there were no explanation regarding the stat computations can anyone help with that? Thanks in advance.

For what type of test? For moving around go with Navigation, Sailing and Command.

You're welcome Cory, they're all worth the price and then some... what i would like to know is how the attributes affect the skills and how they work... is it like CK where the attribute will ultimately affect the xp cost of skills and their role in tests or is it a totally different system

It is a totally different system than CK, it is like ST (not TA, CK or HOS.)
AoP and ST share a lot of systems. In this case, it is a "minimum attribute for skill" setup.
So, to have 10 Pilot you need 10 Quickness.
