Ok I am playing a smuggler on demanding.

I have -8 rep with rychart. But the pardon button remains dark. Usually it has to be above ... beloe -10 b4 no more pardons.

Or is there something I am not aware of?

Are you too broke to pay the pardon? -8 rep isn't cheap. Either sell them some records to raise the rep, get some more cash, or do a contract for them.

I dunno, thought i did. I went to -14, got arrested, went to -7, did some jobs for em then paid it off. I thought it would say in the side bar to the right how much the pardon would cost, which tells me thats only if u got the money, which means they know how many creds u got before they even offer it.

I would think it would tell u even if u dont got the money, lets u set a goal even if u just have to sell cargo.

Why would they tell you how much the pardon costs? You're a destitute criminal! You'd probably turn to piracy to get that money. Now, if you're flush with cash, you're most of the way towards being pardoned already...

Visiting the Palace only shows you the things you have both enough credits and enough rep to buy.

So if you don't have the rep to get a Promotion the button is dark, and same for Permit/Pardon/Warrant. Even if you have the rep to buy something if you don't have the credits to buy it the button will be dark.

If I need to justify the logic of it I just tell myself that the courtiers who approach you offering pardons, permits, etc., check your credit balance first. If you don't have the creds they just don't bother approaching you.

Rep * Rep * 120 is the rate system for pardons.

Usually, it's better to just sell Records at a loss for rep unless you're at -3 to -1.

Ok.... so how come when u go to the spice hall, and the doc is in, but u do not have enough cash, it tells you how much it costs? Shouldn't it be uniform?

It should be uniform but I am a bad game designer. I will work to improve this ASAP, I agree with your points.

The Doctor Technologist does not respect Rank or Rep (he chooses who his customers are) but he does take cues from the local Prince about who to rip off and who to respect. However, they make their own rules Doctors. Liz said that was how it worked in real life too =)

I agree, its not bad game design, its... for lack of a better term, beta testing.... but more simply, continued development. You have asked us what we would like to see, given us a place to ask questions and where anwers are usually provided faster than anywhere i have seen, and from the horses mouth so to speak. The best part is, you do not lie to us, if you do not know the answer, you are not afraid to say so.

Just because I think something should be a certain way, it doesn't mean it should be changed to please me. I would love to know how much a pardon costs even if i can not afford it. And if i come back with money and find the price to be higher, tdue to interest, rock on. I assume the rates r not strictly fixed and have some randomness added in.
