Ok this is for you to list your most hated enemies and tell why. They don't need to be the deadliest and this isn't about specific encounters, though an enemy in an encounter can make the list. I'll start things off with my current #1 most hated. Cave Beetles What you say? These annoyances pose almost zero threat to the party. True but why I hate them is because individually they are nearly as hard to kill as the Giant Rats and there will always be at least a half dozen of them. Makes you expend valuable resources killing them for minimual XP and no money. You'll seldom find them around loot drops so they just become an annoying drain that will often force me to make the long walk to camp rather than burn potions to refresh the party.

But you would hate them less if they just did more damage?

fallen NO! It's not the threat they present it's the pointless drain of resources for basically zero gain. Even if I don't use any potions killing them I will still either have to use potions to prepare for the next possible encounter or make the long hike to rest which is gaming time consumed pointlessly just waiting for the sprites to cover the distance. If there was a fast travel to rest points/map exits it wouldn't be so bad but spending minutes routing the party where you want to go and waiting for the animations to walk there gets old quick. I have a tough fight and get decent XP/loot then need to go rest I can deal with. Having an encounter that does nothing for the party is like rubbing salt in the wound. Hey schmuck you just got to waste the last half hour of game time accomplishing absolutely nothing! Having fun yet?

The long walk back...., rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat..... Oh, you mean a NPC? Well, Giant Rats are always a good one to hate. Heh, I'll don't think I'll ever forget that silly fight with five of the buggers way back in December...it took me every potion I had and over a RL hour to finish beating on them until they stayed dead. Come to think of it, they aren't much different now..I'm just more careful when the ROUS are near.

algesan - we did remove the heal ability that they had back in Alpha, so the ROUS are a little easier

#1 on my list. Krete Archers! They fire at range greater than 6 have incredible accuracy and do a ton of damage.
I stand and kill Deathkin but run from Krete archers until I can get them alone. They are very aggressive and chase you for a very long distance. One good way to shut them down is with Vincent's Frigid Air. But you will need to give him some points in lightning speed so he can get within range 6 to cast it and then get back out of their range.
For me Frigid Air is one of the very best curses in the game. Whoever it hits drops their damage. When it hits archers they do less damage and drop their accuracy. The best way to not take damage from archers is to not get shot. No accuracy no hits. If you want to try it you need to put more than 1 point into it. I'm at FA 4 and level 16 archers are missing or doing very limited damage.
Even so Krete Archers are the ones I love to hate.
