Heh. Well Kris this is called onamonapia, a word that sounds like the noise its associated with. I think as long as you can grasp the greco roman alphabet it shouldn't be too hard.
Some examples with, say a small caliber automatic firearm like a machine pistol I would use "BDDDD", or maybe THDDDD if suppressed. All kinds of BOOMs and KRAKABLAAMs. For a helo, maybe a THAP-THAP-THAP (Just never use FAP).
Check out some English comics sometime. You'll Get some ideas.
If I might ask, have you taken classes or gone to art school? What styles of comic art do you think has influenced you?
Seeing your gritty noir cyberpunk I can see you reading old Applseed, Dominion, or Ghost in the Shell comics.

Thank you very much everyone. I made a few tweak to the comic. The font has been changed from arial to comic font and all images now has 800px width for Shalun's library standard.

Is it me, or does the masked interrogator look like a Drell from Mass Effect? (think Thane) I like it. XD

Seeing your gritty noir cyberpunk I can see you reading old Applseed, Dominion, or Ghost in the Shell comics. Thank you for the help. It's really useful. About my art style, I've never been to an art school, might be able to called myself a self-taught. I attended an art class once when I was in a university but failed. I was a bad learner, I didn't like studying theories. Just want to draw whatever I like. But when I graduated I became an apprentice in a comic book company for 3 months, I learnt a lot from there. But I'd never become a comic artist. The pay was too low in my country. I like Ghost in the Shell and Appleseed, not in the current art style but I like the art of the original version during 80s to 90s. You may ever heard of Gunnm and Blame!, those comic are great. I personally don't like the art style of Japanese manga nowadays. Everythings are too cute and lack of detail. It's not bad but just not my type. I'm kind of old fashion. Now I'm learning more about anatomy and lighting. Both theories help me draw faster, especially lighting and shadow. To be honest, adding black to the comic helps cover messy drawing.

Old style comic book art is, in my opinion, better in general - Brian Bolland, Simon Coleby and Sam Kieth are among my favourites.

Hitting metal to a steel table Bone cracking Sound of a drill Electrical spark Helicopter engine Thank you in advance. Hand to wall- Smack or slap work Metal on metal: Clang, probably Drill: Whirr? Spark: bzzt, or zap if it hurts someone. Helicopter engine: whirr again? I'm outta the comic book loop. x.x Calling on dayan, professional comic knowledge required in aisle two... And bring me sandwiches. For sound effects: Metal on metal can be described different ways. It's a little funny that you ask for this because I had this same concern a few days back. I wanted to add two sounds for the same action to signify differences in angle and ALSO to add humor. "Clank" .. "Clonk". Dunno about you but if you're having a conversation and I read ' dialogue here "clank" ... dialogue here "clonk" I sort of find it funny. WHILE, if I write the same thing and use THESE sounds ' dialogue here "clank" dialogue here "kink/clink" ' it feels a tad more serious. Hand to a wall: This one is tricky. If its superman "Boom". If its some dude smacking the wall in frustration, heck, don't add a sound. Do a star around the impact point for emphasis and let the visual carry the effect. If its a combat effect, as in maybe a cybernetic limb partly crumbles a wall, don't discribe the impact of the fist at all, describe the DAMAGE. "SMASH!" or "CRUMBLE!" or "KRACK!" This one really depends on YOU and your vision. Metalic heavy steps (robotic steps): Klunk, klunk, klunk (perhaps with increasing capitalization to describe gradual noise increase) Helicopter engine: whop whop whop whop. The sound of the VTOL propeller as if you were hearing it from below. Drill: Whirr is good. It ISN'T the sound the drill makes, but it describes what's going on in a manner the reader can get/understand it. THeir mind will add the sound of the drill for you. Spark: bzzzt! or Zzzt! Use the exclamation point at the end. Maybe even multiple exclamation points if you want to establish intensity. Bone cracking: Snap, crackle, pop (like the commercial for Rice Krispies) crunch. All work depending on the scenario 'feel' you want to achieve. What do you guys think? rabid

I love the style you're using with faces, it reminds me of more realistically detailed mangas like Crying Freeman. My style goes for something like that too. I think Im more western about it though. Keep up the good work!
