There's a skill for it, but I can't figure out how to do it. I've gone to multiple areas on the map and never got an option to gather. While we're on this topic, how do I bury treasure? I've tried to go onto land at multiple places on the map, but again, no options for this either.
*Edit* I just found out how. It the little 1 square islands that work, not the actual land mass islands.

It the little 1 square islands that work, not the actual land mass islands. Yes, you have to visit the sandy beaches  Gathering happens automatically as you sail. |

And also on shore, where you bury treasure, you can take on supplies using the Gather feature.
