vdx - just double-checking that your group is currently not stuck, right? We have hammered out daily HoS updates on Android to remove all trapping-bugs of which I am aware ... please let me know if you are stuck! Can't have our A-Team stuck anywhere P.s. the two stairs down from the Underhouse go to the same place, but they explain how 2 armies of cultists appeared. The treasure chest you saw from a distance but could not reach can be reached.

1) Not stuck again... yet. Don't worry, if there's some place a player isn't supposed to go, I'll find a way to get stuck there. Currently, I'm playing through the Cult Maze of Never Ending Spiders. There's so many spiders, I'm expecting Lolth around any corner.
2) I look forward to finding it... might have to wait till after I clear some more spiders.
3) Any chance of adding "Can of Raid" as a special weapon?

vdx - the spider kingdom was at the request of one of our KickStarter backers, Porter, who took the design a Dark Race Reward. We worked with him to combine mechanical constructs + spider kingdom concepts ... and here we are

In EP1 playing Normal Difficulty. Nobody died and I hoarded my potions for what might come next in EP2. On EP2 normal Selen died in a Troll ambush caught in a single wide path with no retreat or sideways maneuvering room. Fought my way to Bruenhold and entered the house into the underground Vurnak temple complex. Thanks to the cult initiates I'm now wearing my backside for a neck warmer! Sucking down the potions fast. The new potions I find in chests are really great and much needed. Just about everybody almost died in the first battle with the Cultists. Good job Cory and Andrew luring me into a false sense of security. I got to explore most of the first level shrine area and thought I was doing something wrong until we were suddenly surrounded. I forget who got killed in that round. In several fights everybody was reduced to near death. My advice? If you really enjoy dying make sure you neglect to put allot of points into Kyera's Piety Ward. But wait there's more. For no additional charge make sure to get your characters too close together and watch the magic damage ripple through with 87 points of damage or more on everyone it touches, I've never seen it miss. Just makes you tingle all over. You get a total of 11 talents in EP1 I'm really kicking myself for putting two of them in Holy Retribution although that might change once the party reaches Ember city. To have any chance of hitting with Holy Retribution I bumped Invocation to 9. When it hits she would be better off throwing water balloons filled with holy water. Really should have spent those points in Lore to support Myshana's tears, or hammers. I already had plenty of points in Conjuring to support Piety Ward , and Warder's Shield. Is there any advantage to doing other quests before tackling the cultists? Like going down the south gate of Bruenhold to help with the trade problems. I'm just not sure my party is ready for the Vurnak cult.

You can't do any more of the sidequests at this time. You can clear out one level to the North on the Prospector's path, but there's not much reason to do it. It's time to go after the cultists. And I'm sorry to tell you there are things down there that make the first ambush look pretty tame. You will however get lots of magical gear that will help with damage coming from magical attacks. I've got no points in Piety Ward at the moment and am relying on Warders Shield and lots of dexterity for everybody plus careful team placement and gear to give me magic resistance. fallen, the spawning spiders are not too much of a problem. I have yet to see one spawn anything when I've gotten it down to 1 AP (EA + FF) do they need more than 1 AP to spawn? Part of the problem is no blade upgrades, so my damage is dropping and I'm using lots of empowered attacks, which means lots of SP drain and camping. I don't want to truck all the way up to town to buy more potions so I'm being pretty conservative. I've found some campsites down there that let me allocate talent points so I don't have much reason to head for daylight er, brighter gloom. There are just a lot of enemy groups and even without doing all the levels it takes a long time. I completely cleared the first level after the house basement, then the Under Pits (or something like that), then I completely cleared Smith's Horde, which is pretty necessary with all the levers. Now I'm working on the temple little by little. One question, if I kill whatever boss is down there, will I be able to go back and clear out the other levels, or will all the cultists melt away once their leader is dead, or will those levels be blocked off for some other reason?

contributorHigh dexterity build for everybody? Even Vraes? I'm running a game on PC and Kindle HDX. Because you routinely run on Nightmare I really need to know. So high dex = high dodge which applies to incoming spell attacks? Selen is running dex 11 (base attribute unmodified by equipment) and still getting slapped around by the cultists. I'm assuming that doesn't stop curses am I off base here? How high is high, what value of dex is Vraes. You were willing to take intelligence points from Kyera to raise her dex? These questions probably belong in a different thread. But given your post above I really need to know. My PC group isn't as far along as my Kindle group. High dex is a big commitment in attribute points. Your advice here would be a great help. Thanks.

Hmmm, I've really just maxed Vraes and Selen's dexterity. Selen is at 16, but she's easy. Vraes is at 14 or 15. I also use Warder's Shield (at 5 now with the whole team at level 21) and Selen's dodge buff. So she is really hard to hit, but it still happens. Vraes also uses Burst of Speed and a 1 handed sword plus a shield. He is very hard for people to hit in melee. They both have some dodge/parry gear as well. The two of them can stand for hours in melee combat and take very little damage, and that gives them a big advantage (Selen doesn't do bows at all).
So starting combat, the big question is run up or run back (unless it's one of those wicked two-sided ambushes). I often use Selen's Sly Look to figure out where the enemy is. If their ranged people aren't too far away I often run up with Vraes and Selen. This lets Kyera and Vincent also come up (and keeps the enemies bunched together) and start casting Ethereal Anguish and Flash Freeze on everybody. If I can park Vraes or Selen in front of some of their ranged attackers this is even better, because now I know where the damage is going to go.
Other times you just have to run back and try to lure their ranged attackers up, or hide Kiki and Vince behind a rock/corner. You'll also find that as you go deeper in the tunnels there is some great resistance and HP boosting gear. I've got a lot of that on Kyera and Vince to keep them safe from the long range bombers.

Heh, that is something that is a minor annoyance. There are set piece encounters and need to be, but when you've just swept through area A covering 180 degrees of your "six" and have taken less than two moves (i.e. less than 14 squares of move) forward towards area B...then suddenly not only is there a big ambush party in front of you at B, there is yet another big ambush party in area A within movement range of the deployed group...and the squishies at the back of the party are about to be targeted and take hits.
So, am I really supposed to trust the scouting senses of the Thief & Fighter to follow them along when they say they can find signs of stuff? Heh.
One thing that makes me want to see the Paladin in a group...two real tanks, although I wish I could respec my Selen/Vincent party's Kyera. The only thing that is going to save her is if Selen can continue to do the tanking thing as well as she did.

contributor - I dont' want to spoil it, but if you want to be 100% completionist, do it before you fight the boss. John Robinson - the latest release just rolled out the first E2 subquest, with a good reward. As subquests come out now, they will all have their own benefits and reasons to do them, possibly before you go into the Cult-pit. That place is nasty

Looks like maybe I will be pulling out of the cult pit for awhile then. I might even go north and see what trouble I can get into up there and pick me up some decent weaponry. I'm pretty sure I'm close to the boss though in the cult pit. It's so tempting to finish that out, but I am getting really sick of spiders and cultists.

I'm still working on them, but Da Boyz have been gud to me so far. New 1H Spear that just about kicks the best store bought 2H Spear to the curb, Enough clearly superior trinkets that I can finally dump a bunch of the older inventory stuff that looked like it might be useful at the right time.
