I rage-quit HoS some time ago when I couldn't move anywhere in the rat tunnels without setting off a trap or wasting SP scanning each and every step. Eventually an update released making it a bit easier to tell if a pitfall trap needed to be disarmed (I still haven't figured the ones that look like mines x.x), but I was distracted with ST and CK-- and we all know how it is to try and play something else when you finally got the Trese ball rolling. But since sometime yesterday night I came back to HoS after a long absence and I have to say I'm enjoying it so far. I can't for the life of me figure out what a secret door even looks like (so who knows what I missed? Oh well.), but I'm having enough fun tracking down each and every enemy I can find in the Tunnels to Oskahold (yeah, I quit kinda early) and occasionally watching Kyera get pwned (Kyera died three times, Tamlin 1. Race to the bottom, ladies!!). I'm slapping around level 4 enemies and even beat my first Giant Rat (which was more like fighting the tavern rat from "A Bard's Tale"-- you're a badass until it lights your ass ON FIRE. Anyway, rambling. I just wanted to say I'm pleased that I came back.

Hey Officer Genious, it's a far cry from flying the trusted Cadar flag, but still definitely a lot of fun. I'm glad you've found your way back to HoS and giving it another go again. I've got a screenshot of what a secret door looks like, so will get that uploaded within the next hour or so. I think I might even have examples of spikes vs pits before you blunder into them. So much to upload ... <grin> I hope this helps for the hidden room thing ...

slayernzThe pop out zoom circle is really very impressive. I'm envious. Would love to know how you did it.

Welcome Back !! you have lots of fun & adventures ahead of you. Took me quite a while to figure out the secret doors too.. Do you feel like Bloodlace wasn't explicit enough about how to find them?

Welcome Back !! you have lots of fun & adventures ahead of you. Took me quite a while to figure out the secret doors too.. Felt much better once I got to Oskahold at level 6 or 7 (I liek kilin thangs) and could buy some better weapons and armor. Now I'm cussing out Chitterlings. One has had atleast 10 health for over four turns now. O.o Apparently this one chitterling is practically immortal. Dat armor... x.x

Now they are good, but when you first had them out I couldn't see the difference between them. Now it's easier to tell them apart

Officer GeniousHere is the trap tile identifier ... you know when you zoom in on the tiles too much your eyes go cross-eyed

Just got past the Deathkin under the North Vault. Crazy hard- the worst was that I simply couldn't hit the bastards!! And Vraes and Tamilin rarely miss anything else but Underdeep Beetles! Is it their armor or dodge? I did (rarely) get hits for slightly reduced damage on Ratkin but I couldn't use magic except for the occasional charged blade... o.o
