Gah.... I'm getting super frustrated. Every group has embargoes on another group. I'm 9 years into the game on crazy and I'm trying to build my reputation with all groups but they have all been fighting since the start. I just got a notice that the De Valtos capital had a shortage of artifacts. At that exact moment 2 groups put embargoes on De Valtos. I am barely surviving and have just one ally and am getting so annoyed.

On that level I would not try so much to have peace.
Pick three faction send the rest to hell.
Corey said the message brought these wars, maybe to remember only thing worse than those messages is the son of the templar exile.

I think it's just luck ... (ranging between bad and terrible) ... that causes you to get so many embargoes right at the beginning. Trading with independents sucks because they jack prices up even more than your typical 7-11! What I've done when the game starts off badly is just sign up for delivery contracts, then buy W-F at independents until the factions sort their crap out. Also in that situation, I've purely focused on pilot/stealth so that I can be at least somewhat effective at combat.

Yeah, what's killing me is that it's hard to make money without pissing off everyone but if I get injured it cost between 5500 and 7500 to be healed. If you haven't guessed this is my first time playing this difficulty and now I understand why it's called crazy. So deliveries don't do anything to alter factional relations then?

Deliveries do. I was merely hypothesizing the results of not completing the job u r tasked with on game load. The story being that delivering ur fathers note starts the wars.
Crazy is very difficult. Death rate is higher. When i am lucky i get past level 5 ;-)

Deliveries definitely impact on YOUR relationship with factions. For example, if you were delivering a message from Cadar to Thulun, then you will get +RP with Cadar, and *possibly* -RP with Thulun. It's not a guaranteed drop in RP because if you are delivering things in deep space, sometimes the faction doesn't get wind of the activity.
What is important though is that the delivery doesn't affect inter-factional relationships (Allied factions won't change to warring factions because of the delivery), AND your RP change won't be more or less because of a particular factional relationship. You still get the same +RP and -RP whether the factions have an alliance or a full-on war.

Watch your embargoes and spy wars like a hawk and take every opportunity to sell illegal goods or records (at a loss if needed) to jack up rep with anyone you can. Even a bounty hunter or pirate wants to be able to cash in on a nearby spice shortage.

It IS a shame your rep doesn't increase if you sell goods in a shortage though ... after all, you're doing the planet a huge favor carting shortage goods in from half-way across the galaxy

I don't know... If I was a person on that planet I would be thinking, "thank the gods a kind soul has finally brought us the clothes we need and.... Huh... ARE YOU %@ing KIDDING ME?!?! 3,000 FOR JUST ONE PAIR OF CLOTHES. THAT SON OF A $#@%&."

It's almost like you need planetary rep vs. faction rep....You know, to keep things simple.
"I'm great with Rychart, except for Baza Prime where I may have some five-eared bastards running around, and I'm wanted by all Steel Songers except I really bailed out the Xeen merchants that one time, and there's actually a spice coffee named after me there."

That woulb be groovy. Then perhaps even if the faction despises you, even if u have to sneak thru securuty patrols to get on planet u can still buy fuel. Planetary rep would go for indies too, screw with one independant planet to much, gotta pay the fines.

Yay... I got through my tough times. Now I have 300+ rep with 2 factions, 200+ rep with 1 factions, 120+ rep with 2 factions, and 25+ rep with the last one. . I got the honor ships and am trying to get the power ships. Honor of Thulun is beast. Still on crazy
