Was this supposed to be fixed in 1.0.13? Because I just bought some, and so far I have killed 0 enemy crewmen with this while smashing up masts and hulls quite effectively.
The effect I want is 'grapeshot, grapeshot -- good, their crew has been greatly reduced, we board now with overwhelming numerical superiority', but it is not happening. And with the mess I am making of the ship it is more cost-effective to board as soon as possible. Crew are free, but hull and mast damage cost money to fix -- and reduce your salvage payments.

I noticed this as well- grapeshot blasting holes in the hull... Maybe it's crew error at this point- too much rum to fire the cannons properly

It is absolutely capable of blasting holes in the hull, shredding sails and break mast.
Likewise, chainshot doesn't pass up the chance to decimate a member of the Crew now and then.
It was fixed as much as I found it needing to be fixed from playing and running the numbers.
It wasn't fixed with the intention of providing a guaranteed 'grapeshot, grapeshot -- good, their crew is dead' experience.
You can miss, and you can miss the Crew, which makes it run more like a weak-ish cannon hit.

Sounds like it's back to the chainshot for me then fired like ten of the grape rounds and barely hit anyone, so I'll go back to what I'm used to- enslaving the vile Federation and making them kill each other in the most violent fashions I can think of.

I'll take another look. It should be about the same as Chainshot, really, with a tendency to hit Crew more than other things over the long run.

Ok, I just got on with my high level swashbuckler in his heavy schooner with maxed out commanding. Wasted like 30 s&p using grape-shot and did not even touch a single crewman on any opposing ship. I had tested this on my low level character before so I wanted to check and make sure for you on my best captain. HTC one 4.4 normal
