I'll start a new group with the Paladin this weekend. My cleric has been used as a melee fighter with healing and curse removing as her only true healing talents. BUT... does the paladin get any AP removing skills? I'm rather fond of Ethereal Anguish....

She does not get an AoE ranged AP curse, no. That's a really special thing.
She does have some options that reduce AP, but they're not her starting (or even early) Talents.
She's very different, very fun and super effective. You may struggle with her at first, as I did.

Yes, she is very different. What does "Self Target" mean in the description of her party defense buff?

She can only cast it on her self, but it can AoE to hit other people.

As someone who generally avoids IAP (apart from 'necessities' such as the extra chapters in HoS, or the great value Ship Designer in ST) I want to know more about the extra characters before I purchase any. Mainly: ¤ How are they integrated into the story and how does the dialogue work? (I know they have to fit a certain slot so that some parts, such as the invocation of fire near the bridge in the prologue, still make sense). ¤ Do they have any story or quest branches that you don't experience with the original party? ¤ What happens if you replace more than one original party member at a time with regards to the above? Cheers!

Cheers! 1. The main story stay's pretty much the same and the majority of the dialogues don't change. There are times though when they do have their own unique dialogues and flavor. You'll also learn more about different place from different characters. In Brunehorn for example, they like Vincent because they are all Sedollans. 2. Every purchasable character is supposed to have their own quest branch. I don't think any of them have been released yet though. 3. I've got multiple parties with replacements. The dialogues work fine and I would imagine that you would get access to all of the character specific quest branches. Overall the replacements are pretty interesting. They all present unique challenges and have unique abilities. Vincent is missing all of Kjs great debuffs, but his AoE attacks are a blast. The Paladin, from what I've seen so far, is a very unique melee fighter. Selen is probably the easiest replacement to use. I actually haven't gone back to Tamilin since I bought her, because she just has too many great skills. If you're having fun with HoS and you enjoy starting new groups and coming up with different builds it's definitely worth it.
