The Cyber Knights mission to overhaul the entire job's system continues. This release does some prep work for more exciting releases, but also includes a nice package of changes.
First, we've restored the concept that some jobs will send you to friendly territories. You may be escorting a mark, or taking a package or message to an ally in a safe zone. Of course, it may be dangerous to travel to that zone, but it is still your destination. Even so, you are always working against another faction - someone who would want to stop this mission.
In preparation for a large push to convert the Contact Connectors in VIP Backrooms, the first three have been rolled over. New types of Connector types and job types will be needed to finish the rest of the work, but this puts a nice foot in the water and we will see what comes up!
Finally, in preparation for additional information about the Jobs that you are currently running, the ability to cancel them from your computer, etc - we've expanded on the jobs list in your computer. The first expansion is very simple, but it will ramp up from there.

I want this now. I'm tired of begging Yakuza for money while Fennian and LV give me low long jobs that typically end with me fighting street gangbosses for 100 credits a job. but I just started hard, so I suspect its just me.

It never occured to me the back rooms needed V2-ing. Better wait until it's fully rolled out before calling the game itself version 2.0.0. Great work on the PDA and active jobs list. This is exactly the kind of work that Cyber Knights needs: Things can remain complex and awesome underneath, but they need to be clear to the user. Instantly the PDA and active jobs list are so much better. Great work, and I'd love to see how the strive for clarity reaches into other areas of the game. My fave game just keeps getting better and better. Now if only we could get more people to buy the damn thing!

As mataeus said, clarity and simplicity in presentation and interfaces are the key to true awesomeness ; something very complex in the inside MUST look simple and intuitive to the user, otherwise he feels repulsed and it does no good. I'm glad to see that CyberKnights tends to get more and more user friendly ; I do not know for the others but it makes me feel like I was right to invest time and energy into this game from the beginning. Thank you, fallen and Cory Trese !

Exactly. Both TA and especially HoS were simple and clear from step one. The way the elements were introduced to the player, the opening parts of the game and the tutorials therein, and the interface. While I think the HoS interface could be more intuitive, it makes more sense from the off as to what controls what. That's a discussion for that thread though.
