As an independent, I now cannot buy designed ships on independent worlds again, says "requires access to Military Base and Faction Rank".
The ship designer says "Not enough credits", but does not say what is the price. Also it is weird, that I have a ship which costs 600k$ in designer, I have 1.4M$, and adding 1 point of armor goes directly to "Not enough credits".
The ship designer says "Too unstable for Deep Space flight", without any hints what does it mean.

The first one might be a bug, might be your ship count, character or the dock. I'll check. The message "Too unstable for Deep Space flight" just means "Too Few of one thing + Too Many of another thing"

The message "Too unstable for Deep Space flight" just means "Too Few of one thing + Too Many of another thing" I guess my communication skill failed me again. Maybe some screenshots would be helpful. 1) Can I provide any screenshots to troubleshoot this? I am playing Independent character, visiting Independent planet, not having any other ship in my possession, the dock seem to operate as usual - I can purchase ships there. And I think it worked one version back. 2) But it says just and only "Not enough credits". Should not it say something like "Not enough credits, this design would cost you 25,000,000$"? 3) Thanks for explanation, maybe it would be helpful to include the explanation in parenthesis, something like "your design is too unbalanced"?

Yeah, I think he's talking about the bug where the price displayed isn't the real price, and hence the price displayed is affordable but the real price isn't. Happens on my phone too.
Noticed the maxes are still the same, but hull to armor and hull to torpedo ratio rules have been relaxed a little.

Did this update change the Omega Cruiser? I just tried to buy it and the stats were 15-7-33-34-100-80-26-18 or something close to that.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using proboards

Noticed the maxes are still the same, but hull to armor and hull to torpedo ratio rules have been relaxed a little. And a lot of nerfed ships. I'd hoped you would leave the cool ships alone and make the designer able to make even cooler ones but whatever -- I know you want to keep it balanced. There are a few ships that are still not quite valid because of rounding errors (e.g. Star Cruiser doesn't quite fit the Propulsion restriction, and 16 ships still have just a hair too much armor -- if you add .001 to all the maxes and subtract .001 from all the mins, all would fit I think). And the Structural and Stability checks are a little more strict -- so my draft design isn't quite valid anymore (need to remove 2 Crew and 1 Hold -- d'oh!). Did ya have to do that? But the min/max for the designer criteria does indeed follow what's in the catalog for the most part now -- thanks! Now that you have the inspection points fixed up, maybe next time you can increase the max values allowed for the ship stats. Then it should be possible to make any catalog ship in the designer. Updated ship list here.

Updated ship list here. Yeah I was kinda hoping he would change the ship designer rather than the cool custom ships too. Then again, the omega cruiser was always ridiculously over balanced and like you said, at least now the ship designer is closer to the high-end custom ships.

Hey now that you've made high-end custom ships less powerful, any chance you'd make certain alien ships less powerful too? Like the narvadian hive which has 70 armor AND 80 engines AND 100 sails AND 1000 crew AND fast AND quick?

The ship I made on Impossible just took out the Hive with straight Torp/Retreat/Torp cycle. Sadness
