I am playing a captain I started before 1.1.7
She is currently 'World Famous' -- which means that defensive decks which unlock at Famous were unlocked for her.
She's in the business of killing ice demons and kraken because she thinks this is the best way to gain rep with all factions which will let her get a nice new starting ship.
She's killed many Chariots of Rhaggash, Anguishes of the Depths, and Pain Forgers which don't have an associated Elite unlock, but for the first time she managed to kill an 'unlock' enemy. 'Pride of Horrors'. This should get me the Expanded ships magazine.
So, I went looking for that to install in my warship. I haven't found it yet. But I have found a place that sells Grenadoes. And it let me buy them! I am not supposed to get those until I kill a Champion of Inequity[sic] -- and I haven't done that yet. I have seen one and fired on it, but the wretch was too fast for me and escaped.

It is letting me buy Reinforced Materials and Icewood Keel, too.

And my merchant captain, who hasn't ever attacked a demon or a kraken is being allowed to buy the Icewood Keel, too.

grävling - thanks for the report. We will take a look when Cory is up and awake. I know he spent all day yesterday trying to sort out AoP awards / unlocks.

Hey again.
I'm on the same version (downloaded the update a day or two ago, whenever it was pushed to the app store). I played it this morning and noticed the following:
I am able to buy all the locked upgrades without having defeated the associated enemies, Like Gravling is reporting. In previous versions that was working fine. Also when I buy an upgrade (currently I've only tried on Icewood Keel and Reinforced Materials for the sails), they charge me for the upgrade, they remove the upgrade from the store, but it's not installed on my ship (my ship retains the original upgrade which was there).
So it appears to buy it without actually applying it to my ship. This may be because it's still technically locked for me as I haven't met the prerequisites.

BattleFate is correct -- my Kraken killing captain still has her old boarding upgrade when you look at her ship.

Ah. I found a place selling the Expanded Magazine, which as you recall I am entitled to for killing the correct beastie. It was expensive. And my ship is full of powder and shot and food. I wondered what would happen when I swapped out my Cargo Lockers for this thing as my cargo space was about to go down ... Turns out that the cash was deducted, the game still shows my ship as having Cargo Lockers, and my cargo size is still 58. Captain Raema wants to shell the naval shipyard, right now.

Speaking of... how long until we CAN start shelling the shipyards? Really looking forward to wreaking good pirate-y havoc on my enemies towns, even eventually capturing the world for my own nation.

Still not fixed -- though better than before.
I went to a shipyard, and it had 'Reinforced Materials (+4 Sails +4 Mast)' for sale. I bought it. It is on my ship now.
Problem is that I haven't killed Thuthagot the Unliving which is supposed to unlock this upgrade.

Under Awards ->Unlocks it says: Destroyed Thuthagot the Unliving The Captain receives this award for banishing the Sea Beast called Thuthagot the Unliving.
Unlocks 'Reinforced Materials' Upgrade.
On that screen it says that I have killed Pain Forger, Anguish of the Depths, Chariot of Rhaggash, Thuthagot the Unliving, Sacauathu the Bloody, Cygnamott the Foul, Price of Horrors, and Champion of Inequity.
Does this mean that the game thinks I have killed all of these? I thought this was the list of all possible unlocks.
==========
But under Plain Awards (All Awards) all I have credit for is Destroying Pride of Horrors (unlocks Expanded Ships Magazine), Chariot of Rhaggash, Anguish of the Depths, and Pain Forger.

Our games would never be as good as they are without players like the people who make thousands of posts on this forum.
You're as much a part of the team as anyone. This post required you to keep coming back and pushing.
The result is a continuous stream of improvements for everyone who plays.
Thanks for being part of that.
