Kinetic Energy:
Let me just say that for every build that I post in this thread, there are 4 or more that I try out that don't warrant a write up. This isn't one of those groups. It usually takes me almost two weeks to make it to the Vermin Lair, due to...... life, idk. This group has steamrolled through in just over a week of hard playing.
The party is running Kincaid, Vincent, Selen, and Kyera. Now I had mentioned this group in the thread a while ago, and they have lived up to what I wanted for the build to accomplish. They are all sitting at level 10 currently, and about to begin the assault on the Lair.
Kincaid: 332 HP, 30 Armor, +4 Dodge, +3 Parry
Attributes: 5 Str, 9 Dex, 8 Con, 3 Will, 4 Int and Kno
Skills: 10 Blades, 4 Lore, 2 Throw, Lead and Stealth
Talents: Lunge 1, Sure Parry 4, Live by the Blade 3
He is utilizing (for now) a Hilted Dagger and a Heavy Stiletto. I wanted him to have the Parry of the Dagger, but the Accuracy of the Stiletto- he almost never misses, and that's great when he is using 3ap per swing. Long term goals for him are to put one more point into LbtB for the +2 mp, then he will bring Lunge up to 4(?) when it hits for +12 damage. If he hits level 18 before that point, then he will alternate between Storm of Steel and Lunge until Lunge reaches its mark.
Vincent:
Attributes: 4 Str and Dex, 5 Con, 4 Wil, 8 Int and Kno
Skills: 11 Sorcery
Talents: Lightning Spear 7
Simple but beautiful build. he will push LS to the max, then he will turn his attention to filling any Talent gaps in the party. Likely I will have him put a point into Flash Freeze, then begin working on Frigid Air for ranged control.
Selen: 308 HP, 22 Armor (She will be utilizing Light Armor, forgoing Stealth Armor entirely)
Attributes: 5 Str, 8 Dex and Con, 3 Wil, 5 Int, 4 Kno
Skils: 9 Blades, 5 (9) Stealth
Talents: Frenzied Blows 2, Punishing Blades 3, Dance of Shadows 1, Quicksilver Defense 1
As a frontline fighter and also a stealth lead, she has quite a bit of work to do in any given combat. She is leveling PB slowly, but keeping pace with the armor of the enemies we confront. She is using the Hilted Dagger and the Leaf Dagger, so she is using 2 ap per swing. She could be doing more damage with the Vrotta, now that I look at is, but I like having her dual wielding.... I'll see what I can figure out with that one... Life for is interesting right now. She is spread thin for the time being, but these are to be her only talents for the foreseeable future, so I'm sure I can keep them balanced appropriately. She will be focusing heavily for the next 4-5 Talent Points on boosting QsD up, as well as keeping PB leveled to the enemy Armor. I see no sense in over-stripping armor, as this gets prohibitively expensive.
Kyera:
Attributes: 4 Str, 3 Dex, 5 Con, 4 Wil, 11 Int, 6 Kno
Skills: 10 Lore
Talents: Sacrifice 2, Tears 3, Warders Shield 1, Purifying Breeze 1
This is a very specialized build for Kyera, and this will be taking her support role through its paces. She is maxing out Int and Lore, and focusing most of her points into Tears and Sacrifice. With her gear and Int, she has 384 SP at level 10, and Sacrifice restores 38 SP allowing her to keep everyone charged and in motion. She will likely stop Sacrifice when it reaches +50 or so SP and focus on Warders Shield to keep up the frontline defenses. I am keeping Tears ahead of the game and her next point or (two over the next 3) will be put into Tears. I have had issues with using Kincaid as full melee, so I want Kyera to be able to completely heal both Kincaid and Selen in the same turn. So far this hasn't been an issue.
Which brings me to the premise of this build. I wanted a group the wouldn't worry about going to camp every one or two fights. this group went through the Troll cave the entire way without backtracking and did the West road with only one trip to Oskahold. I also wanted a group that didn't need to worry about using tons of SP. This is where Kyera comes in. With her able to bring the group back to full health and SP at any time she pleases, the remainder of the group is free to slaughter with impunity. Vincent destroys groups of enemies, while Kincaid and Selen do the grouping. Once enemies have been thinned out by my buddy Vincent, Kincaid and Selen march right into the thick of it, Selen stripping armor and hitting over 35 consistently, and Kincaid hitting around 45, the two are an absolute chainsaw, shredding everything in sight. Kyera sits on her haunches until something needs to be Anguished, or the front line needs to be assisted in any way, then she looks up from her book, casts a spell, and huffily goes back to her readings. Vincent is a power hungry devil of a man. He sits a pace ahead of the Cleric, discussing the Shattering, then jumping up, he fries anything in the immediate vicinity while Kincaid and Selen look back at him grinning ear to ear.
Awesome group, great- no- superb damage capabilities, and they just keep on rolling due to Sacrifice. Easily my best group yet, and I cant wait to see how they fare in the Watershed and the Keep.
Signing off, and ill post more once I get further
