Star Traders RPG was mentioned on Reddit regarding "having a lot of Android application updates." www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/i4b6j/why_we_see_so_many_apps_frequently_updating/c20sigqI just wanted to comment that I feel like our releases are always worth uploading to the Android Market. I'm keenly aware of the fact that our players have data plans and other things to do besides updating Star Traders. However, at the same time -- Android is a real-time experience. Reviews, crash reports and updates are all immediate and unfiltered. From my perspective that means developers must be fast to keep up. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Release_early,_release_often

It's nice that although STRPG was called up as an example of high numbers of updates, there was an immediate response from others supporting the game. Even the original poster re-clarified what he meant. Ha ... there isn't any other use for a data plan other than to support STRPG. I use my phone more to play STRPG than any other function. In fact, I always find I have to go OUT of the game screens in order to access my default home screen. Effectively STRPG is like my very own live wallpaper <grin> For me - I see the updates have dropped in frequency as the game has matured, but bug-fixes are things you definitely want to address as quickly as possible. Perhaps as a compromise, have a weekly, or even fortnightly feature release strategy. That would appease people who can't cope with regular updates, and yet still provide new things on cycles that other developers would not even contemplate

I don't have a problem with your update schedule !!! You always fix something & are adding content. Much better than a Yearly update if that often I'm always happy to see that my favorite game as an update for it. It just means more fun & enjoyment is on the way. Just keep doing what you're doing Cory !!! You're doing great as far as I'm concerned.

Updates are fantastic I think, if it is being actively developed like Star Traders, it is even more reason to play more! Surely you do not have to update if you are data constrained, or you can wait until you are on WiFi.

Pfffft. If you're data constrained, what are you doing with a smartphone?
