Need some cookie cutter builds for starships. I see we have to upgrade/ design new ships to get anywhere to fight off the opposing team.
I am not really into ship design but should be left in as an option.
Planet maintenance has a good feel
Also found focusing on minerals factories ect is important.

Pre-made ship designs is definitely on the list.
I can even see an "Auto-Design" feature down the road at some point.

With regards to the auto design feature it could sort of have a base style that you can choose and then get semi-randomized stats within that style, like say a fighter always has a lower ap and high mp and then x amount of guns/torps etc and then the other stats get a random point assign with the rest depending on the design level?
I like designing ships but its hard to say if they will work well or not until they either tear through the enemy like paper or crash and burn so a good recommended build that can be tweak would be nice too, once you see enough ships that way designing them shouldn't be too hard.

The designer would probably just pick your best component for the frame.
Since AP/MP, Damage, etc are all pulled off components the auto-designer just does exactly what a player in a hurry does.
1. Fighter? 2. Get best Fast Reactor 3. balanced stats for gun and defense 4. Get best weapon for fighter 5. get best armor with remaining mass 6. talent #1 low Fuel use 7. talent #2 high fuel use 8. pick best aux training 8. name + save
