It seems like i cant earn enough RP. I cant build spice halls, or upgrade my starports. Im at 2.1AE and have only acquired 18RP.

Are you sure that's all you've ever acquired, or how much you're acquiring each turn? The number listed at the bottom of the map screen is the amount per turn. If you go to the current research screen, (tap the erlenmeyer flask button), you can see how much has been spent on the curent research project, and how much it needs in total.

My game right now is 1.44AE and has 16 RP listed in the HUD. As khearn said, that's 16 RP per turn. So it takes me a little less than 10 turns to research Planetary Construction 3 for 150 RP. The game lets you Research more than one at a time, evenly dividing your RP between the projects. I would suggest starting by Researching in this order - Planetary Construction 1 - Planetary Construction 2 - Starship Construction 1 - Weapons (Pick one) - Planetary Construction 3

Low on RP? Let Rychart take more worlds, they get a bonus. Build Spice Halls, that will get these darn Faction people to fork over the technology they've got, and draw in Star Trading Captains who've got the goods.

WHY ISN'T THIS DOCUMENTED!?!?! *shakes Kindle wildly* Waaaahhh the money I'd have SAVED!! ;_; ... Welp, I'll move onto Test 2 of Phase 1 in a bit anyway. But still. >.>

There is a bug in the tech tree that stops you from seeing all the bonuses

It's an alpha.

It's an alpha. Robots have no excuses. Or souls. Or eyes, really. Anyway... Oh, THAT'S the tech tree bug everyone was talking about! My bad.

Also, note you can build multiple Spice Halls just like you can build multiple Mines. By the end of my recent 2.50 play, I was rocking 31 RP / turn.

I usually look for unexplored anomalies when I am researching tech for the chance that it completes the tech for me.

It is definitely important to be sure that you have some exciting research and construction projects running when you explore anomalies. If you do it when nothing is going on, you risk losing the bonus.
