Because there isn't one in here yet. -- I never did like the Khaimer Faction; always sticking their nose where it shouldn't go. I'm curious as to what exactly the Khaimer did and how Ruesland got word of an attack, but I'm hoping to have a better idea of what exactly is going on once our fine captain gets on his ship-- and what kind of captain he'd be on the sea.

Ruesland has eyes everywhere, friend. More will follow, as this is merely an introduction.

Chapter One is now in the works. Hopefully will post tonight.
Edit: Chapter one has been posted. In this, our captain is introduced to his new vessel.

I like how you use a lot of ship terminology-- shoring up the guns, for example. It sounds like the character is in fact an experienced sailor who knows what he's on about. I was a bit confused by seeing the ship though-- for some reason I was expecting to meet Lady Strom (did you swipe that name from Heroes of Steel? ) rather than the ship. It makes more sense rereading it (ships are referred to as females anyway), but I thought I'd just bring that up. One last thing-- the captain of the ship envisions gun battles, shanties and barbeques. I hope he didn't mean ON the ship?

And yes, barbecues would take place right on the deck of the ships. Gun battles would be between ships, aboard his own vessel, as his crew is fantastically disciplined as you will later read. Shanties are typically songs sung by the crews of these ships, typically about women, drinking, sailing, that kind of thing.

Shanties edited to read sea shanties for clarification.

Wouldn't barbeques on deck be too dangerous? A sailor's worst nightmare is a fire at sea.

Wouldn't barbeques on deck be too dangerous? A sailor's worst nightmare is a fire at sea. Roaring fires wouldn't be permitted on the decks, certainly, but a bed of embers in a designated brazier located centrally and away from any powder or ropes wouldn't pose much danger to the crew or the ship. The ships galley would also be much too hot in the warmer months, so much of the cooking would be done on deck.

Will resume writing the story on paper tonight, have quite the story to tell! Sorry there isn't much action as of yet, and there is still a full chapter of planning to be done on shore, as well as setting sail. I'll update as I get closer to my next chapter. The battle scenes I have in my head for this are just epic (hopefully that will translate into paper!) Hope everything makes sense so far and thanks for reading!!

So as I sit down to write about Roderick's battle plans I realize I have yet to plan out troop movements and such. So my apologies for taking as long as I have, but this is something I must work out before I can have Roderick discuss it in-story. It's shaping up nicely however and I hope to begin typing later this week.

This is looking awesome. Another loyal Ruseland player here too. I'm indifferent to Cadari , and Kaimar seem too controlling. Ruseland seems like a nation I would like.

Attempting to type out Chapter 2, if my contemptible laptop could perform basic functions instead of letting me type literally one sentence before crapping the bed on me. Wish me luck....
