If you are a registered Alpha User and a member of "Test Flight App" you just received an e-mail inviting you to use that service for your Alpha builds.

I've got a simple question, what is this and what benefits does it giver over normal alpha test.

If you are using iOS and have their application installed, you don't need a PC to get the Alpha.

It makes iOS work more like Google Play
