1) The Explorer skill has a listed description of "The EXPLORER skill is used by the Captain when he explores a planet for Artifacts." Seems simple enough, except for the fact that it is never stated which skill is used by the captain when he HARVESTS a planet for resources. Does the explorer skill govern both Exploring and Harvesting on a planet, or does a different skill govern the Harvest action? (like Tactics perhaps?)
2) Does having a high Explorer skill also make planet surface encounters less likely or is that governed by the Stealth skill or random chance, etc.? Stealth lists "avoiding encounters" as one of its multiple benefits, but never specifies if this also applies to a planet surface.
3) What exactly does improving "wilderness landings" mean? Since we aren't crash landing on the surface, I'm totally unclear as to what benefit increasing Tactics (which "affects wilderness landings") and Pilot (which is "used by the captain for landing in wilderness")
4) While we are at it, Pilot also helps with "landing in Urban Zones", what exactly does this mean, as I would assume stealth is the stat being checked to see if you land without having an encounter, correct?
5) The warrior skill is used for "surviving encounters". I assume this allows the captain to personally avoid taking damage during exploration/harvesting whereas the rest of the crew gets hit with it?
6) What role does the Negotiation skill have "when being searched"? I would guess that Intimidation helps prevent taking a morale hit from losing stuff, so how does a higher negotiate level help?
I just upgraded to Elite today through Amazon. I love the game and appreciate the high level of support that has been demonstrated. Although for some reason I couldn't transfer my captains into Elite (error message stated they couldn't be found, original game is still installed), I don't really care that much as I'm just redoing the unlocked achievements. Anyways, thanks a ton for making this great game.
