Last game was pretty good about letting me experiment unhindered by Xenos. This game on the other hand... Difficulty Easy Small Map Turn 1 Turn 2
Can we get a game option for Ram Self Destruct or have a colony ship overload its engines creating a massive fusion bomb before diving into the Alien colony. Our people would rather that than end up on a dinner plate.

It looks to me like you have a good chance to grab some planets and isolate a xeno world to your SE. You might even be able to bring down one of his colony ships before he can land it. In this case the glass would be half full.

I dunno, it takes a few turns (and manpower) to down a colony Xeno, and since it doesn't have far to go... x.x That being said, at least he can have an easier time refueling/using water fuel on a nearby planet?

What a hideous start - and on Easy too! It explains why Rychart likes hats so much - to pull over their eyes when they see a Xeno bearing down on them!
