Auto Buff

I was never a fan of buff's in RPGs, but have come over to the "dark side" in HoS. That being said, it can get tedious manually doing re-buffing after spells tub out our resting. Would there be any way to code a script that would allow the player to put the buffs they want to use in the order they want, and have a one or two button touch that would activate the chain of buffs to be cast. Might be too complicated, but sure would be great!

While I wish this were possible, I doubt it will happen. Casting buffs can get complicated. For instance, a party I'm running now has this routine:

1) Form into a T with Fyona in the middle.
2) Vraes casts Stone Skin and Phalanx Shield on himself. Stone skin raises his max HP, but doesn't fill in those extra HP.
3) Fyona casts her healing spell to top up Vraes' HP. (must come after step 2)
4) Fyona casts Shield of Cortias, which has to be cast on herself but also covers a + area around her, which is why she has to be in the center of the formation.
5) Kjartan casts Pureflame Shield. This actually usually happens after Vraes, but it can come in any order.

While the ordering of the spells wouldn't be hard to implement, getting the party in the right formation can be non-trivial, depending on how they start out and what the terrain is like. Trying to come up with a simple way for the player to indicate where he wants everyone and in what order to cast the buffs would be a challenge. True, one could come up with some kind of scripting language that programmers would have no problem with, but most people would find it too complex and it would be a never ending source of confusion for players.

An auto-buff button that does this is on our to-do list. We will be there, but are currently working through other big quality of life enhancements (4 Talents shown always, new fog system, major speed increase) and new content (City of the Dead, top prioirty).
