I'd seriously pay extra money to be able to start in Oskahold at level five [close to six] with some random crummy loot and maybe 1k gold.
I've run the dungeon escape so many times just to figure out what party I like, and it's become tiresome. If we could start just before we unlocked the lv6 skills, it wouldn't really break the balance of anything, since that's around where you are once you get into the town. Maybe it could be a feature that you could unlock after completing E1A1 with at least one party, so you'd have to have gone through the whole sequence at least once, and that way you wouldn't have missed any of the story, either. Since there are a set number of enemies throughout the game, you're able to pace how the team levels up, and you could give us the appropriate
If you're serious about churning out four episodes, another new character, and leveling the characters all the way up to 64, please consider this so that we loyal fans can get right in to the meat of the game with whatever party setup we want, instead of having to slog our way through the dungeons, mines, ratkin tunnels, spider tunnels, giant rat tunnels, more ratkin tunnels, and all of those damnable traps just to figure out whether or not our team is viable and whether or not we actually like it.

Can I like this post more than once? I had thought to ask it so many times personally, but never knew how to put it. I just deleted 3 or so of my games that didn't work out and started 3 new parties in the last 36 hours. Now I need to bring them allllllll the way to Oskahold....

If that does happen, I hope we can still have the option to hit the tunnels... i like preliminary testing; sometimes the first 6 levels make or break a build.

We've had the request before. thanks for posting! It's not something we are looking at, at this time. Lots of other high priority things to do. Also, this is not something we'd ask anyone to pay to get.

It was something I was initially in favor of. As it is now, it's not that big of a priority for me anymore. Since the game has gotten longer I'm not starting so many groups and it doesn't take me that long to get to Oska anyways. When I do play the first two or three levels, I've found it refreshing to be back to the "simple" life. Also escape from RH is one of my favorite levels. On Nightmare I'm more on edge in that level than any other level yet.

Especially when we get to ladders, playing the first levels will be important. You'll want to say "0 Deaths" very badly.

How did you handle it in Diablo 2? =)
Won't a shortcut to Okskahold open the door to a shortcut to Riven Field?

I managed 0 deaths on Brutal and just arrived at Oskahold... soooo much lucky positioning in the fights.

Gonna dig this one up again.
A great reason for being able to start somewhere other than in RH dungeons is the possibility of doing an HoS community challenge. As it is right now every challenge will have to be run on the first couple of levels, which severely limits what you can do.
...yes I haven't forgotten about Community Challenges...
