It was warm, not an intolerable warm, but not a pleasant one either. I was often asked to lower the temperature of the ship, but I could not. Sacrifices had to be made, and this was one of many. My entire life there had been sacrifices. I guess since we are close to a possible new home sector, I'll finally write about my journey, my long, long journey.
My name is Captain El'yekk Neerbu of the colony hive ship, Passing Shadow. My mission is to colonize a new world for the Human Race. As there are other records on the reason why Human civilization had to flee Earth, I will not discuss these event. Besides, they were before my time anyways. See, I was born on this ship, the Passing Shadow had always been my home. My father was the third Captain of this great vessel, and I followed in his footsteps. I knew from a young age, that all I wanted to do was pilot the ship, and I certainly got my wish. The Passing Shadow was the largest colony hive ship built before the flee from Earth. Currently I have a crew of 3,763 Persons, look after 112,564 immigrants, and carry a total ton cargo of 1,223,498. We are large, and proud of it. Banks of De Valtos!! We're here. I promise I shall continue the story of my great journey, but now I must go settle a colony.
