It would be really cool if you had an Iron Man mode similar to XCOM. The rules would differ from a standard campaign as follows:
1) You may only attempt a given mission or campaign once
2) If you begin a campaign you cannot exit it until you either complete or die trying
3) When you complete a mission there is no longer an option to re-try the mission to restore fallen soldiers
4) There would be a fixed "Iron Man Mode" starting squad consisting of Captain, 2x Soldiers, 2x Scouts, 1x Neptune, 1x Hydra, 1x Berserker, 1x Chaplain
Access to the mode would be as simple as selecting the Iron Man Mode Squad sort of like how you can select the Templar Battleforce right now. I know you don't offer mid-game saving so it would still be possible to cheese this mode by shutting down your phone and restarting the program, but maybe you could detect stuff like that and have it kill the save file.
The reason for this mode is because it seems like the dominant strategy in the current game is to repeat easy single missions then dump the campaign and repeat the same mission until you feel "ready" to continue playing. That feels like an exploit / cheese to me.
edit: oh and, of course you would not be allowed to play this mode with Simple for a difficulty setting, but besides that any other setting that featured permanent character deaths would be fine.

fortescue - thanks, we've got this one on our list already as the "difficulty above Brutal" - its #TA-1919. Thanks, you've basically summed up the pre-existing request!

Does that mean the combat would be harder than Brutal too? This sort of thing works really well divorced from scenario difficulty as shown in XCOM...

fortescue - the main change would be that you can't back out if something goes wrong. Play once, play perfect. But yes, likely combat would be tuned a little worse too.
