Okay, just finished Narvidian Dawn and Narvidian Echo on normal. Very pleasing experience. I could see the game writers learned a thing or two from the players, as NE exploited some of my own tricks such that they backfired . Anyway, Having finished, I have two questions: 1) The end of the campaign states that these events took place in the year AE 49. Two of the missions take place in the ruins of the Roavin fortress, last seen in the earlier campaign. However, Star Traders starts in the year AE 57 -- eight years after the end of TA -- and the planet Roavin is inhabited. There is no sign of the overwhelming assault which, presumably, reduced Roavin Fortress to ruins. Why is this? Might this be the source of some new rumors in ST explaining how Roavin came to be inhabited again? 2) The literature on this update of TA said you would be introducing new Narvidian units. I didn't encounter any -- just the standard scouts, lancers, and mobile cannons. What else should I be looking for? Or did you mean the hybrid creatures? Oh, one final suggestion... The "Final Boss" level of ND gives "destroy the hivemind" as a primary objective. I was attempting to search the entire floor, and was about halfway though before I noticed the "X turns remaining" clock. !! After being butchered, the second playthrough I didn't bother with searching the floor but just made a beeline to the extraction point. The game ended the moment all four squadmates put their feet on orange tiles. ... was there SUPPOSED to be some kind of boss creature? Or is that merely flavor text?
