If I attack first, it is taking AP and MP. but if I move first, it takes just MP

I noticed this too. It takes the "hit and run" element away from the fighters.

Correct. I'll make sure this is clear in the help documentation.
It reduces the hit and run on the fighters so they are more balanced.

Pretty big detriment to the bigger ships. does same apply to xeno?

Pretty big detriment to the bigger ships. does same apply to xeno? The Xeno have it worse than the player, but they are an AI so very patient and understanding of game balance. This change actually balances for the bigger ships, making them an even more effective platform, compared to Fast Reactor ships. Need to support many valid fleet configurations and this I think was a fair and necessary change to accommodate that goal.

It's always jarring to have a system change like this when you got used to the old way. I think you'll find this a very important balance decision.

I made it work. Not a real big deal. Just think ahead a bit more

I do notice that attacks that cost 2AP take away 2MP. So is it safe to say that for every action point used it takes a movement point to execute?

Makes sense to me. If you want to fire a torp or guns, you need to maneuver to hit the target.

There are no Weapons or Ships that do not follow this rule.
I'll fit it into the Library in the next release.
I've played the game with the rule on and off.
It is much more balance and fun with the rule on.
I won't be removing it.

Makes sense to me. If you want to fire a torp or guns, you need to maneuver to hit the target. This is a nice way to explain it that makes sense. I can definitely see how it would have been imbalanced without this rule in place, especially the 1 AP, 4 MP early fighters. EDIT: Cory Trese I definitely don't want it removed. It would make combat too easy.
