I originally downloaded the game from the Amazon Appstore, then purchased Elite through the Appstore. I get an error saying the free version is not found when I try to import my captain to continue my file (which was the reason I updated to Elite)
Help?

Because Amazon uses an Amazon Private Key, I cannot integrate the two application families. If you start on App Store, buy the Elite App Store version. I'm working with Amazon to see if there is a resolution. I admit I this was something I did not even consider

I'm assuming there's no progress or that it's been impossible to integrate the two versions, but I'm posting to bump just in case. I had an Amazon gift balance I figured I'd burn up, and I'd just closed my slush fund account as the bank I will not name severely changed its terms of service. I figured I was tired of looking at all the elite version unlocks and weeping. I'm not the best with boolean operators sometimes, but I used forum search feature and didn't find this post until I consulted the great oracle Google. I'll just have to wait until the new cards arrive, and buy a second copy. I think I burned more money in time just setting up Amazon Apps than was worth. YMMV, but I don't recommend the experience. Thanks for my new vice, Trese Brothers! See you around the forums! Edit- My first experience with Amazon Apps. Uninstalled and I'll be buying the Android Marketplace version. I'm not liking the part where I have to enable unknown sources to install the Amazon app.. then you have to have the Amazon App running to play your game. And.. if you pull or stop Amazon's App, es no bueno. You can't play ST:E. I'm sure there's a workaround, but it's the principle of the thing. I'm a paranoid bastard about permissions, and pretty minimalist as well. I don't mind if you share my info for marketing, (Google's doing it already) but don't force me to run your app constantly to play a game I paid a fee for. I never touched Steam for such practices, I have returned games that require constant online connections. ST:E on the marketplace install has no special permissions, AFAIK. The OHA with Google developed the platform, so they can get whatever info they can pull out of our passive-aggressive relationship, but Amazon really cheesed me.
