Stay on planet after the contract is successful

Came back to ST after few weeks at sea in AoP, started an Insane difficulty game. One thing I really miss is remaining on the planet after I am done with a planet based contract, something that is a feature in AoP.

Sometimes it takes few weeks of ST game time and few units of fuel to Ignore the various encounters just to land on the planet. As soon as I completed the contract I am kicked back out to space. But I need to be back on the planet to get supplies/repairs, something that I don't have the money for before. Now I have to run through the gauntlets of unfriendly encounters again to do that and pray my crew morale stays ok when fuel/water is near/at zero.

Please allow us to stay on the planet by default if I complete the contract successfully. Kick me off if I fail.

This has been suggested a brazilian times. I think the answer is that it cannot be changed due to some new-fangled hard coding limitation in the game.

Yeah, this is how ST works. Your Contracts are done WITH the Ship, which means Deep Space.

Play AoP, and you'll see that the Contracts are done WITHOUT the Ship, which means staying in Port.

The games are different and it is not my goal to homogenize them.

Hope that helps explain why it is different and do a little bit to convince you it is better this way (riiiiight.)

Delivering a Package to the Palace always seemed weird. But if it's done with the ship then maybe it's something like this:



And just throw the package in and fly into the sunset.

You meet a Contact, and agree to enter Orbit to make the package exchange.

Assume you aren't walking into the palace actually carrying the Narvidian Skullpiece you're smuggling
