If I reduce a xeno world to a quality of 0, or a -1, will they have the same economy problems? Why when I bombard does it only destroy the quality of the planet and not xeno or their actual buildings?
With how painfully slow invading is, bombardment seems like the only real way to take down a system.

I'd rather take two or three ships and invade the planet. That way I can eliminate the colony and be able to use it later as a stepping stone to total sector control.

I guess I was trying to avoid the 2+ invading ships.

Just make them specific for that task, and their upkeep isn't too high. Right now I have teo ships with planetary invasion II and drop pods IV and each ship has an upkeep of ~75. Then once I clear it I bring in a notmal colony ship and take the planet.

That is what I have been doing.
Just wish that if I bombarded, it would reduce the surface (quality, buildings, beings) to a cinder

So i now have the opposite problem. How do I invade without doing quality damage, just population?

Scouting ops have never damaged quality for me, but have a lower success rate than invade or Bombard.

I have tried that and was hoping that isn't the answer

What I tend to do is make three Military Transports and Scout-Invade-Scout. On good rolls, I can clear 2-3 population a turn with minimal Quality loss.
