Samsung Galaxy S4, model SGH-I337M. Android ver 4.4.2. Kernel ver 3.4.0-1529758.
I have both AoP and ST on my phone. I usually play one or the other for the morning commute on the subway train. Phone was fully charged before I left home. I notice AoP uses up the battery faster than ST. If I am out all day without any mean to recharge, I'll have to play ST to pass time if I want to phone to be usable all day.

FYI, Samsung has done a recall on S4 batteries. My first one got so hot, it bulged, popped the rear cover off, and fried the SD card + internal memory. I had to get a new phone.
Even so, I normally have to turn on airplane mode to get any decent battery life. I used to be able to play ST/TA/CK all day long on my HTC in this way. Now I'm lucky to get 4hrs of battery life from the S4..... and that's with power-saving mode & minimal screen brightness with nothing running in the background. IMHO, Samsung phones are highly overrated.

I agree with that. I wish ASUS would make a phone.
That said, I will do some testing and see if there is anything I can do.
I cannot think of anything off the top of my head, but I would suggest muting the music in the game menu, not on the device volume slider.

Cory Trese- could the brightness of the game also be an issue for battery usage? I do notice a huge increase in this game over the others and I think it could be that bright blue and light brown that could be a culprit? would there be any way to put a brightness slider or darken some things? Just a thought

En1gma - you device has a brightness slider. That is not something we can add to the game to dim all the graphics.
