So I have a relatively new Cadar colony in Hard who got a recent pop boost to 2. So I had this colony build another factory and some housing and refocused on beating back some Xeno forces.
Unfortunately, the Xeno seem to crap out a World Destroyer every other turn (lolwut??) and I lose a neighboring planet and after beating back three or four world-killers, I realize that I need to consolidate my planets to last long enough to build more (and better) ships if I have any hope of beating these things back (I've been fighting them for the past 15-20 turns and they KEEP COMING!!!). So I go to my Cadar colony of two, cancel a hab II upgrade its been trying to build for the last 5 turns and realize that I should seriously be beyond 3 CP on this bloody planet. So I take a closer look-- 2 population, 2 housing spaces, 3 factories... and only 1 person was working them. No wonder these guys had 10 morale!! >=[
Why in the world is this guy not working?! Does he NOT see the Xeno eyeing his house like a kid eyeing cookie cake??

I'm starting a new Hard game as this isn't the only place where this is happening, and I have no idea how to get these slackers back to work (threaten with sock puppets?). Then again, I wonder how I'd last with Xeno neighbors. Likely not long...

I'm starting a new Hard game as this isn't the only place where this is happening, and I have no idea how to get these slackers back to work (threaten with sock puppets?). Then again, I wonder how I'd last with Xeno neighbors. Likely not long... After losing my fleet and two planets due to Cadar's wonderful Slacker Planet, I decided that I would try to keep playing anyway even though the Xeno keep adding new ships (which have never stopped coming and have risen to rating two something like thirteen turns ago at this point for a total of like 25 turns at war) and with my economy barely earning me 150 a turn. I took a hard look at my planets on that side of the map (I'm on the smallest one), and realize that I'm probably going to lose another two or three planets less because of their proximity to a brand-new Xeno colony and more because they have CPs of 1 (again, taking entirely too long to build Habitats for a growing population when my needs have radically changed). So I did something I didn't think I would have to do: I pinpointed planets that were doomed, demolished all their infrastructure (as most of these trouble planets were draining my funds trying to build homes with CPs of 1 and no factories to speak of) and left them to die. I feel like an asshole watching a few fringe planets cry for help as they're basically drained for or cut out of funds and the Xenos inch their way closer, but suddenly I'm getting 260 a turn and managed to cough up a strike fighter to harrass the World Killer while I get some Chancellories built. Absolutely horrible, but necessary. THAT is why I'm enjoying this game.

Indeed. I also cut some extra infrastructure from my bigger planets. Better get lean people, XENOS ARE COMING!

What will you sacrifice to protect your new home?

Hey, no one said the job was gonna be easy. In fact, they called me the unpaid political piñata. Or at least the piñata part, I wouldn't be here if I knew it was unpaid. =/ lol But I still dunno why that one pop refused to work, Cory Trese? Did I miss a requirement for workers?

I would need a screenshot. 2 Population with 2 Factories generates 2 CP in every configuration I've been able to find. I'm working on improving the display for Factory points, hopefully this can be explained as a confusing display issue.

What will you sacrifice to protect your new home? Dammit. Reminds me of one of the taglines from an animation someone from No Guts no Galaxy made to help fund his animated series project. I just wrote an article on it so it was fresh in my mind when I read that bit XD

I believe that line comes from CS Lewis but I cannot recall which character speech it is in.
Loved that video, saw your comments on YouTube this afternoon.

And I'll have to see this video for myself.
