I need an alternate way to transfer games, too. When I click the "start backup" button on the helium webapp, my phone displays a screen saying that since my phone is encrypted, I need to enter a password. But I don't have an encryption password, I use a pattern. But Helium doesn't give me an option to enter a pattern, so it seems to be unusable.
Is there really no other way to do this?

khearn - this is the best non-rooted option that we can provide. You could contact Helium's app support and see if they could help with this support issue? If you root the phone, there are lots of easy ways to do this.

I'd been having problems getting this to work. Everything would seem to go smoothly but no saved games were transferred. It turns out that it only works if the games are still installed on the device's internal storage. If, like me, you shift anything you can to SD to free up internal storage, you need to move things back to device storage on both devices before performing the backup and restore procedures. This has solved my problem and works with the free version of Helium. Might be worth adding this to the walkthrough fallen

Hey maybe offtopic, but I have a rooted phone and the free version from Google. The transfer from free option doesn't work as my Elite version is from Amazon. I've been looking, and can't find a thread on where the save locations are stored. I just want to take the saves from the Free version and put them in the Elite directory; is this possible? Thanks.
EDIT: I found the data folder, but for the life of me I can't find which files contain the save data. Its not the Data cache located /data/data/com.tresebrother.startradersrpg/databases nor is it /files so where are the saves?

In ST RPG, the files are stored in 'databases'
Thanks!!!

Any update on this for poor Motorola people? I'm trying to transition from a Droid Ultra XT1080 to a Samsung Galaxy S7. I can browse the Motorola's file system and look through the file databases but I am not sure if the same games would be stored in a folder somewhere that I could just copy and upload to my new phone manually. Of course Helium does not work on Motorola devices. I thought about rooting the Motorola, but I am not that technically savvy and I don't want to mess it up.

In this thread (http://startradersrpg.proboards.com/thread/13713) they mentioned working on Dropbox save game transfers across devices and platforms. There's no timeframe on that though, so it's not a short-term option.

Without Root, the only solutions are: 1) waiting for our Dropbox implementation -- no ETA, but it will be a while. 2) Rooting the phone Sorry, we are a 2 person team and we move as fast as we can.

I just activated my shiny new Samsung s9+ and went through the procedure to transfer saved data using Helium. I used it before when I had to replace my s5 and it worked brilliantly. This time around however the restore part of the process just won't go through. I have tried restoring ONLY STF data. When Helium goes to "uploading..." it just sits until the phone's connection to their servereither times out or fails. At least one thread about this issue (it's not specific to Trese Brothers) exists in the 'webs. Has anyone else encountered this? More importantly, has anone found a workaround or alternate solution? Please and thanks!

After trying several variations of this protocol with the free version of Helium, along with a couple of other methods, I finally paid the 5 bucks for Helium premium and was easily able to upload the app data from my Trese Brothers games to Google drive and restore them on my new phone. No PC go-between necessary, and my single purchase of the premium version was useable on both phones.
So for anyone else having trouble with Helium transfers:
Pay the 5 bucks for premium, upload game saves to Google drive, then download your save data to your new device!
