1. What is one Population Unit worth? In the Library, it says each Hive carries hundreds of thousands of people, and these seem to consistently make one unit of population on the Prime worlds.

2. QP changes from system to system and I figure it is dependent on planet size, number of planets, etc. How much QP would our Solar System have? (assuming we could colonize Mars and the Moon at the least)

3. How large are the Upgrades if they cost 1 QP?

4. What is Ship Mass measured in, metric tons?

6. What distance is one tile?

7. What exactly are Lances? The art makes them appear to be energy based weapons.

Lances are an energy weapon designed for use on Capital ships.

A rough summary would be a "big plasma-lighting gun"

They're crewed, aimed and fired much like a railgun.

In theory they're much harder on the Reactor in terms of Fuel use.

They also will be able to carry very heavy radiation damage loads in the late game.
