Master of Orion got me hooked on the 4x games AAAAAGES ago, and loving that you guys are doing one. Main thing right now, is that the 'minerals'/'quality' ranges really don't tell much about anything. I've had some colonies seem to land on planets where the atmosphere is an aphrodisiac and they pump out quintuplets every turn because the pop goes through the roof for no apparent reason. I've had some colonies land with a starport 3, some with a starport 1. (guessing this is per faction?)
Also, given it 'just' being an Android game, would be nice if a system had separate planets you could focus on or choose an order to populate, or a bit more info than just 'minerals 2-20' / 'quality 2-20' or the like. Really gives zero feel to things.

Alex Fury - we'll try to add more topics to the library on the topics. You can see the systems all have different types of stars - red giants, yellow giants, white dwarfs, etc. Each has its own properties and pattern to the type of systems it will create. The colonizing is 100% consistent. If you start with a hive, one of the first three ships, you get a powerful starport. If you build your own post-Exodus colonizer, you get a basic starport. In the early days (read advisor text) the Star Traders from the Exodus will pile onto your homeworlds fast and furious. They will not overpopulate, but they will fill available Hab Units.

2-20 is one of the widest ranges available for a star system, likely associated with a white star (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stellar_classification)
The Quality and Mineral scores are representing the sum total of the entire system, each planet, asteroid, etc. As such, your Faction colonists will find the System's quirks as they colonize.
Many of the maps in the game feature a planets with ranges like 16-20 and 18-24. Those are usually Red, Blue or Yellow-Orange stars.

I don't think I've ever seen a 16-20 or 18-24. Best might be 7-20, though I'd have to open up a new one again to check.
