Cory Tresereally? I guess I don't get enough world killers through to have a problem. Maybe more of a need at higher levels? or I'm lucky? On my current game on Insane I'm fighting 3 enemies that each use 3 WK ships each. That's 9 WK at a time. Since a fully defended Colony only has a 30% chance of being hit, this lets me defend core worlds and leave border worlds to be defended by the FDF. In a future release, you'll be able to move Battalions between Colony using a Military Transport which will make them more useful than FDF.

I will say that trying to take on the tutorial level in Hard is silly tough though- the second wave never really stops. If you send a ship to spy, you can watch the Xeno just keep cranking out ships at gradually increasing levels... o.o I'm giving one of the 32x64 maps a try on Hard.

Is the tutorial world designed to be difficult to win, even if I have difficulty set at easy? Or is that just me? If it is, could you add a note saying that you shouldn't intend to win there?

It is designed to be a map that can be won more times than not. If we have missed the mark, then that is part of the on-going work with difficulty and AI. How many worlds do you take? My current game: Difficult: Crazy Date: 4.25AE Colony Count: 18 Ship Count: 18 I'm slowly pushing the Xeno back, at this rate, expect to win around year 8 or 10.

I have the same problem. I simply don't turn but maybe 150 a turn and I have to use it on ships since the Xeno keep sending world killers and forces my way. =( And I can't colonize with Xeno colonies at my front door. I could try scouting off the other side of the tutorial map but I'd hate to bring their attention to my primary home worlds (which happened last time...).

We are working on some Let's Play videos and improving the Library, Tutorial! We hope more info will help you all find many winning strategies, as they do exist!
Remember to play on lower difficulties until you've got it working!

I think what people are getting at is Easy/Normal need to be toned down, Easy especially and Normal a little. I saw another topic with someone complaining Hard was too difficult and my blood started to boil so I didn't reply. That kind of crazy pisses me off because they choose to play on a harder difficulty and if it's too hard they can turn it down. When it's too difficult for people on Easy there is not an option to turn it down, so I understand people pointing out the issue. I mentioned normal because that's the baseline which all of your games usually start and which I always play. I have yet to have time for a game on easy but if others are pointing out they are getting wrecked on Easy that it may be the difficulty is a little over scaled.
Here is the way I look at things: Anyone who has played strategy games should crush it on Easy to the point where it's not even a challenge or probably enjoyable unless you need an ego boost. It's like clothing: On a cold day you can always put on more layers, but on a hot day you can only take off so much. If people think easy is too difficult they have plenty of harder options but if Easy is too hard they have no options. I understand "get better" is an option but this is how you lose players to frustration. By not making Easy a cakewalk you a not hurting yourself, as you said you play on Insane difficulty, you are only hurting players who play on Easy. Now if someone complains Easy is too easy, the answer is simple: increase the damn difficulty, that's why you have the option in the first place! If they are complaining Hard is too hard, you just reverse it and say decrease the difficulty, that's why you have the damn option in the first place. Those two options work for every scenario but people playing on max difficulty finding it too easy and people playing on the easiest difficulty finding it too hard.
You may want to redo this poll as its a totally loaded question. You do not take into account what difficulty level people are playing so you may get people on Hard saying it's too hard and on Easy saying it's too Easy. I voted based on Normal as I figured that was the default, but it's not specified in the poll question so the responses may be all over the map due to people playing on different difficulty levels.

I could turn down the difficulty, but I'd just like to know if others are seeing nigh endless wave of enemies on Hard. That's why I complain, to see if anyone else has the same problem/tips. I can handle the higher damage/hit rate of enemy ships and investing more time into my planets, I just wanna know how people deal with the Xeno numbers effectively.

Wasn't singling anyone out, it was a generic comment in fact I have no idea who it was (didn't look at the name) but I know it was not even in this thread, they started their own just to bring it up. The point wasn't to call people out (or I would I would have put their name in my post) it was to try and explain why the poll, which seems to be headed in the way I hoped it would go, may not be the while picture. The rest was just my opinion.
I might have sounded worked up, probably because I was worked up.
I had just finished updating the app, decided to check out the reviews on free/paid and noticed someone had complained that the free version didn't include enough content. They called it a "demo". Not only is it far from a demo, as you can compete it without paying, but imo it should be a demo. I am not fanboy, in fact the dev and I have had it out over email on (non gameplay) things in other Elite games which ended up getting mostly changed, but I felt the need to call out the idiot revirwer on Google Play for that comment as I am sick of people not supporting development of apps and devs being forced to go to micro transactions, where the same idiots who wouldn't but a $4 game would spend hundreds in IAP "gems". There is a new generation in this world that is completely mentally handicap; I just don't get people anymore.
Anyway, that's why I was worked up. It was not directed at you. I would quote you but the new Tapatalk app crashes every time I try to do it, which is great because I paid for it once, then they made the HD version which I had to pay for again, and now support on that is discontinued, and I am forced to use this free version with less features and built in analytics code for ads. A beautiful ****storm; part for the course.

Sorry @thallinor, I jumped to conclusions. Apologies. I'd like to see how the developers deal with aliens early on as well. Once a colonizing ship gets a planet close to one of mine, it's endless war time. Cory Trese, you mentioned the hostile period was 50 turns? No wonder it felt like the second wave never ended! XD
