Killing them maybe? We have a long way to go before the reputation system works as well as ST RPG

Thats...bad. I think its a bug because in earlier versions i was able to kill them with no worries.. I especilly hate that even escaping makes them mad... Actually,i was outside their territory, and right when i came back to their territory,i noticed that the rep bar was not green,i checked my rep and it was 4.

I don't think it's a bug if you were able to kill them before with no worries, but now they're dinging for being a jackass. I mean, you wouldn't be too popular with me either if you started shooting my peeps. Except for Easter Peeps. Those things don't taste very good, and I think one gave me a stare down once.

@taatuu - please check and confirm that you are still losing rep without killing any of the gangers. Rep loss is based around killing enemies, not the fact that you got into a fight. If you can escape without killing anyone, you should not lose rep. I understand this is the way it works in the new upgrade.

When does the heat and rep change register? When you kill an enemy, or actually hit them in combat?
Oh, and I've noticed random changes to rep and heat during play from the other random encounters. It doesn't happen every time, but I have noticed it happening.

Is your heat supposed to increase drastically (i.e. from zero to 50+) after one failed hacking attempt?

I have not fully tinkered with the hacking yet, as selling paydata is...difficult? (read: impossible, even having three contacts who buy this stuff) But based on my small sampling I would say it depends on how deep into a system you get and who's system you're messing with. I could be wrong.

levitrain - hacking is another majorly BETA system. The suggestion to make it clear to their character as their matrix operations are raising their heat has been noted. The Global Matrix is in its infancy. More to come on that.

best way to get hear> touch the matrix at all. The matrix needs a lot of work.
When you log into different computers you should be logging into a computer controled by that faction. los V should have lower security than the Yama's and bravestars. I like the way u can network around but you should have a way to select WHICH network you want to connect too...
I think pay data should be bought at a bar where you get jobs. So there already seems to be some factions that dont like other factions. Go off that and use it... The V-chip idea is neat too but u can NOT rely on it as it is a random connection....

silverstone - thanks for the good suggestions. If you use the Network command repetitively, it will cycle through the out-bound connections for that host, so you can choose to connect to different hosts (see the message, "This pipe connects to X", click network to change the pipe connection, then click Connect). There will definitely be some bars / fixers on the ground that will purchase pay data. Content creation is one of our major projects right now. And on the Matrix... yes, it needs tons of work. Luckily, Cory loves this stuff, was basically born to computers, played deckers and hackers in every game from SR to Mage, and has written his own house rules for Shadow Run games for decking. He has a ton of ideas, and its just a matter of time before it materializes into a well-oiled part of the game! Thanks for your patience.
